What color Should I paint my car??? Poll time!!! - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #70439 26 posts Started by str8thugginit4ya
Hey guys, just wanted to ask and get some input on what color I should paint my car. As of now, I finished all of the body work and it is covered in black primer (sort of flat black). Since I have primered it, a lot of people has been telling me that I should paint the car flat black. But I have a couple other colors I would like to see too. I bought some rims, and I'm putting up the pics of the rims as well so you can choose what color you think would compliment the color of the rims. Thanks to all in advanced. I wouldn't be halfway done with my car if it weren't for this community.

-Thanks again, Ryan

Like my transformer emblems??? Also, if anyone could do a photoshop with my car in white, that would be awesome. Thanks again, Ryan

Starfire white. I love the 6gc in white, and starfire white would take that above and beyond. It'd be expensive to have the entire car resprayed in white since you have to do the door jambs and everything. It would be cheapest and easiest to keep the car the same color, but gloss black is overdone!

Thanks a lot bro! I'm not TOO worried about changing the color, because it's me and my uncle painting it. Well mostly my uncle. But yea, he does real good work so he said bring it into his shop before it starts to get cold down here and we could get started. I'm just waiting for my Zephyr skirts to come in and them hopefully it's in the shop!

LOL...Yea, saw your white GT-4 like that. Looks awesome!!!!! But i'm kind of leaning towards the black, but STILL undecided. I want to go with white, but I know it will be double the work.
White ftw!

a black car has 4 disadvantages:
1 - on her very visible scratches and dust.
2 - visually it seems smaller than white
3 - all lines of bodikyt not visible ... is the worst !!!
4 - at night on your car no one is looking:)

Sorry, I never seen all three sitting next to eachother, so whenever I see them I can't compare. But the colors do look FREAKING close.

Yea, I know a white car is MUCH more easier to maintain than a black car (I used to do detailing). But I have to ask my uncle how much more time and money it will cost to change the color of the car. I know it shouldn't be too much, but I thought it can't hurt to ask. Can someone do me a favor and photoshop my car in white, if they can. It would REALLY help me out a lot. I have some visualizations in my head, but a photoshop pic can help too, right?

Trust me, I wouldn't even think about changing the color of the car without doing that. Anyways, I talked with my Uncle today and he said that I should keep the color of the car black. He said that it would be a LOT more easier to finish, but he still wouldn't mind changing the color; it's up to me.
stay black your already 1/2 way to have a good finish

Yea, I think I might just do so. He set a date with me to bring it in. The Monday after the weekend of Thanksgiving. I got in my Side Skirts the other day, and they look SWEET! Can't wait to see them on the car. I will post some before and after pics when it's done. Thanks for all the help guys!

Black with the silver flakes. This way I wouldn't have to worry about the door jambs and everything. My bro keeps trying to convince me to paint it a different color, but I like how the black looks on a Celica.
black looks awesome but I would love to see a celica Starfire white!!the Lexus IS starfire loooks so hot, but you should also consider the Matador (blazing red) Lexus color, in person and when they are clean Matador looks just Awesome on the RX and the IS, and on a celica... I just dream of it rolleyes.gif

waiting for LEDs for next projectWOW recieved the LEDs, just tested a set up on a breadboard and I can barely see anything lol. I think I'm closer to being blind !!
I'd never do red on a car ever again. My volks taught me one thing. If you get red, prepare for it to look like a tomato in 5 years.
^^ yep red is a big no no for me

white ftw

God made man....Everything else...Made in China
I cant remember whose car it is neither the color, but she painted her car in Supra Grey. Luckily I saved her pics cus thats how sexy that car is!

Black w/silver flakes, but on the other hand as far as white goes, how about pearlescent white, has all kinds of iridescent colors depending on the angle of the light hitting it blues, reds, greens, in other words the glints (no, I'm not referring to the Cr-- they put on american cars which is very dull looking) Saw the color on a 77 GT once, it was very different. sharp.

Thanks for all of the input guys. I wanted to add another color in their cause I've seen this color before and it just hit me that I should consider doing it for my car. It's the 98 Supra Imerial Jade Mica (Forest Green). I was thinking about painting it in that color. WHat do you guys think? If you've never seen the color before, click on this link and you'll see pics of it.

It looks REALLY good in person, and I was thinking of just adding a couple drops of black to make it darker and then throw in some gold pearl so when the sun hits it, it will shine yellowish. Give me some oppinions on that color, because I'm really considering it.
