Portwork on a 7AFE Head - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #70185 6 posts Started by qatar11
I have a spare 7AFE head in the garage and I was thinking of taking the dremel to it to

A - Learn how to do port work
B - try to make it flow a little better for the race car

Anyone try this? Any general suggestions?

Thats an interesting point... over rated in the sense of its difficulty or its benefit? Especially since its an "econo" head

Overrated in both benefit and difficulty. The benefit isn't worth the hassle... it's not so much it's hard to do... but annoying and long to do. Older cars with crappy head casts and such from way back when, can see some benefit... but pretty much anything made since the 80's is a lot better.

okay... does this look like its not worth it?

Seriously - I'm curious. And maybe thats a loaded question since that is a 3g 3SGTE head that I had done. I think im going to give it a shot to see how hard it is to do.
