Hi Guys,
I am planning on changing our name from "Phoenix Tuning" to "Dr. Tweak's Garage". There are a couple of reasons for this change, one being that (even 5 years later) people STILL think that we're in Phoenix, AZ. The other is that I've been getting a lot of reports in the last year especially where people are getting confused between us and Phoenix Motorsports (the same first name and proximity don't help I'm sure). There are a few more but those are the major reasons. Before doing so I just wanted to check in with some of my oldest customers and friends and make sure you all don't hate the idea

Why not leave off the garage? It's a bit redundant. "Dr. Tweak's" sounds pretty cool and slightly evil.

I say keep the Phoenix tuning only for one reason. If people mix you up with the other shop, you are still (in a sense) getting more customers, even if it's by accident.

I say it's a good name change. While I don't see anything wrong with Phoenix Tuning, Dr. Tweak's Garage (or just Dr. Tweak's - as aforementioned) I think would fit well because you already advertise via vinyl and I think on your site to being "Tweak'd" or getting "Tweak'd", so I think it would be easy to put a name to the slogan.

I vote Tweak's Garage. It rolls off the tongue easier than Dr. Tweak's Garage IMO, but a name change definitely wouldn't be bad. I personally like Phoenix Tuning, but adding your name to it would help people associate you with your garage easier.

Tweaked Performance would be good. I'd say a name change would be good anyways, cause on these boards everyone knows who you are. Therefore they don't say "I'm going to have Phoenix Tuning do my harness", they say "I'm going to have Tweak do my harness" anyway. Might as well make it official. Right?

And keep the phoenix as the company logo.

I say out of those two you have listed, I still like Phoenix Tuning more and I will tell you why. Because of Blue Tooth, Sony has been able to sell the $#!T out of Blue-Ray and triumph over the HD and Blue Ray war as far as which is going to be predominantly used. Ipod has allowed Itunes, Iphone, and now i-anything is quite popular amongst the people. So for people mistaking you for Phoenix Motorsports (assuming good things is spoken about them) to me, is actually a good thing. Dr.Tweak's Garage sounds too much like a story book by Dr. Seuss, a crazy dark episode that would be in Thomas the Train, or too local as in a non popular tattoo & tobacco pipe shop.
Tweak'd, as someone mentioned sounds good, and I am sure you can go from there with Tweak'd. Anyway, I wish you luck and success with whatever you choose to go with.
Maybe something like "Tweak'd 2 Motion" or "Tweak'd N2 Motion" or something like that.
