I think the rear hatch and glass are required from a drag POV, but I think the ideal situation is replace the glass with lexan, add the spoiler blocks, and in a non Lemons Environment - roll a CF hood and hatch

i would also agree that the hatch can't benefit rigidity of the body as its not really got any proper anchorage points, plus he has a full cage inside
Not so much a fun element - Keeps people from bringing cars with carbon fiber clad race cars - and its not random - the mob votes - so keep your nose clean
