would a euro style antenna lose reception also? 
If oyu have the power antenna then you have no base to attach anything too. I messed my antenna up and I had to get one of those cheap 6 dollar ones casue i could find anythign else to work and it doenst pick up worth ****. Thats jsut the price you pay!

If there is anyway to go from our stock 1/4 inch plug antenna wire to a screw antenna you can adapt it.

how about trying a window antenna it's easier and cheaper and you get great pick up.

i took my sisters power antenna of her celica and put my MANUAL (lol) on to her car.

Yea you can but you have to find a base that will lock down and thats hard to do I had to carry back 3 antennas casuse they didnt work. And the one I got looks ****ty but it works!

I really don't use my radio either...but that's also cause my atenna is broken and my reception sux...but i'm gettin' it replaced on friday...i'm just getting one from another 6th gen tho...
I should have made my intentions clear. my main purpose was for cosmetics,although i would like to have some recption. i was just looking for something custom...also thinking about a 7th gen ant.,2003 i fancy the roof mount style. >
