Hey guys Im just wondering if anyone has been in this shop

The last time I called them the guy told me that they could do the shocks of my celica (kyb-gr2's) for about 380 including instalation. not sure if tax include but most likely not. Is it cheap?

I believe the name of the shop is Zoom tires and Service

umm so 380 for all four struts installed?? I bought mine $270 with shipping to my house. ya have some member do the install. Its way easy!!

did it myself, of course you need the right tools to do it...

i'm about to replace mine. probably next week. its super easy, just go to autozone and rent a spring compressor and you're set

and there's a bunch of people here who can help you out. even a few local people who can actually help you do it. no point in spending 380.

yes 2 front inserts 2 rear struts installed

That price doesnt sound too bad. seems like about 100 for installation. you might as well get some new springs added too!! hehe

yeah im planning to lower it on Eibach pro-kit. biggrin.gif

Im asking because I would like to know the reputation of the shop.. if their shady or try upsell stuff to you.

im about to do a write-up on how to change front strut inserts, since i recenlty did them a few months ago. so just stay tuned...

so what are you plans, going to a shop or having somebody help you

if no one in sd can help you out, try pming lewfx. he did my suspension and taught me stuff that i do on my own now. he's a cool guy but its about a 2-hour drive for you.
ss-iii splitters and 404 skirts areon. which means i need to update my sig.

I dont really mind the drive as long as it will be working fine, then Im ok.

i probably live closer to you than Lewfx does. Ive done the suspension twice on my car before and once on my bro's camry. Im sure lewfx has more experience than i do... oh ya and i remember you saying how hard it was just to get a jack under your car.. kindasad.gif

Uhh are your front shocks sealed or not? now sure if gt celica have sealed struts up in the front.

Let me snap a quick pic tom. I hope you could guys could tell if its a non rebuildable strut but i am still assuming that it was never replaced so it would be strut inserts.. kindasad.gif am i correct??

ha beer, underage and my parents wouldnt like the idea of me drinking!

Ok you have monroe, kyb and blisten to choose from. I believe that all companies will send you front inserts. I had kyb gr-2 in the front for a while and then since i forgot to put new bump stops my kyb's blew out! So thats why i installed blistens up in the front.

I believe if you contact the dealer directly you can ask for the whole front strut assembly, it will cost you more. But you have to ask them, cause im not sure if thats true or not. You only have to go this route if you have front sealed struts!

I believe some gt celica have multi link suspension. this is where i first bought my set of shocks and springs a while back ago.

Did you use the old boot/bump stops when u installed the front shocks or u just forgot to put em?

Did you replace your strut mounts as well?
