My car has always idled a little rough, almost diesel-esque, and I dont know if it will ever go away. I've had people look/listen to it and say its dirty valve lifters, or belt tensioners, or its completely normal for older toyotas. Has anyone else had this issue or have any guesses why my celica is idling rough?

Well, what is it idling at? I have a 94 auto as well, and used to have real bad idling problems. The idle felt rough and erratic, made the car shake a bit. I pretty much replaced distributor cap and rotor, plugs and wires and it help the issue alot. I also changed out the front motor mount (that helped with the vibrations) still need to do the rear though. I also seafoamed it, that helped to smooth it out. As of now, the only idle problems I get is when my air is blasting.
