Are we going to keep this 6gc or what

I'm open to a celi meet(all gens)
My friend who drives a gsx might come up(assuming his car doesn't explode on the way up here rolleyes.gif ) so yea, all gens are welcome.

I'm from the area too, but im on the IL side. I'm up for a meet, but I've never been to Klondike. It looks like its really close to Augusta which has a really good winery.
Other ideas, I know that the river road from Alton, IL to Grafton, IL is a nice drive with the river and the bluffs (plus I drive it every weekend during the summer). Lots of bikers take that drive too.

There's also the Midnight Madness at Gateway Raceway where you can drag race your car if you want ( I don't do that, my car is slow). Its typically pretty crowded though.

Also, a while back redrocket (from the celicatech) was trying to put together something in Forest Park. That'd be cool too.

Just throwing out ideas. But I'm up for some kind of meet.

I good drive sounds good JimmeKay... Make sure you get with stl95celi on that. Ya'll should be able to come up with some good places. I like what I hear so far.. Hell I just wanna ride and hang out with my fellow 6th gen peoples. All this time in Iraq and working for uncle sam I need a good get a way.
Alright well if we want this to happen someone needs to take initiative and pick a place and date when we are going to go, I do like all ideas so far, the race way is a bit much if you ask me, I doubt anyone will race their celica unless its us racing each other. The drive sounds cool, im down for a cruise. Everyone post what you think will be the best idea, and well all decide, i wish there was a poll option on here.

well, to be honest, I don't know how much time I'll have to help plan something. Friday I found out that my wife and I are pregnant and will be due in April. So I'd rather not have to shoulder the load of planning. Though I'm willing to help. And I just wanted to throw out what few ideas I knew of.

So the plan so far is to have a two day meet? Or just a really long one day meet, some people with longer drives stay the night, and we all disperse the next morning? My cousin has a house in Alton, and I'm trying to figure out if I'm staying the night or not. I probably won't pay to stay in a hotel room or cabin when he lives that close.

Someone should invite Fastbird- he's not far from St. Louis at all.

Alright. I was going to check out his car last time I was in Alton, but I didn't have enough time.

Bit of bad news here... I may be able to pull it off, but more than likely my parents are going to make me drive our Camry. They don't like me driving that far in the Celica since it's got 165,000 miles and hasn't proved itself to be the best car in the world. I trust it to get me to St. Louis and back, but not to either of the coasts, for example. Any time I drive more than an hour away, I always have to take our Camry, just because it's brand new. I'm not complaining, because I love that car, but I want my Celica at a Celica meet. If this meet was happening tomorrow, I could bring my car for sure. But by next year, it will probably have over 200,000 on it. Yeah, I drive a lot. 4,000 miles a month this summer, with the worst being 7,000 miles in 30 days. And now that I'm going back to school, which is an hour away, I'm guessing the miles are going to be coming even faster. So I'll more than likely be driving our Camry, but I'll beg on my knees if I have to.

As long as you take care of that Celi, you want have any worries. You can drive it into the dirt and back(but take care of it).

I agree with stl95
you must beat on that thing if you dont trust it at 165k miles biggrin.gif , i hope you do convince your parents man, and if that fails just tell them your going to tow it with the camry laugh.gif , alright so st.louis area sounds like it's the best place. I think I'll be staying over night and then leaving the next morning because I don't want to drive down there hangout for a few hours then drive 8 hours back home. If anyone thinks they'll be staying overnight let me know and I'll see if my dad could get us a discount at a hotel through his work, or at least setup a room or 2 for us at a motel 6.

Hey freddy, I will be staying overnight myself. I have family there, plus I am not driving 7 hours back home myself. I can get pretty good hotel discounts as well. Working for Uncle sam does have it's benefits...LOL
I don't beat on the car. I drive it like a granny! Find me another member on here who consistently gets 30 mpg from their GT lol. Not CLOSE to 30, like 27 or 28, I mean 30+. I do my best to take care of the car, because the guy who owned it before me didn't. I'm STILL fixing this thing up, after 2.5 years of owning it. I keep giving up on it and trying to sell it, only to realize that I really don't like anything else enough to borrow the money for it. Anyway, Celica or not, I'll more than likely be at this meet, and I'll probably stay overnight, but I'll crash at my cousin's house in Alton. Staying overnight will increase my chances of bringing the Celi. My stepmomma doesn't like going without her Camry for too long hahaha

Sounds like you gotta plan richee
St. Louis sounds good to me! I will have the suspension completely done and hopefully some nice wheels.
Early to mid June sounds like the best time, for me anyways.
I'm def down for this meet... I NEVER get to chill with 6gen people in Indiana, or ever for that matter, ha. I know nothing about the St. Louis area so I wouldn't be much help in planning, but I'm willing to try to help with whatever if it's needed. I really want to see this thing come together!

Oh and Richee3... your celi situation sounds a lot like mine... I have 167k on mine and was a little iffy about driving her on a 1200 mile round trip a couple of weeks ago, but she purred the whole way there and back -- even over the mountains in WVA. The only problem I had was that somewhere along the way my halfway broken antenna flew off. laugh.gif Anyways, if she's in good running condition and you take care of her she'll prob make the trip just fine. I hope the ol' rents let you bring her! But if you can't, at least you'll get to bring a new camry and not some kind of fugly granny car wink.gif

I married my grease monkey ;)
If this meet becomes promising, maybe us Minnesotans will join too! Just a matter of planning, it'll be a hell of a road trip for us smile.gif
Yeah ZGear, that would be a hell a va trip, but worth every mile. There's nothing putting your baby on the highway and listening to your 6th gen breathe freely....

I guess this is a good place to go if it has back roads and all. Ima bring my cameras so I can finally photo shoot my celi.
A day and night shoot will be nice. Think Imma do the night shoot in the city somewhere. Ewwww, I can't wait. this will be a vacation from the wife and kids....
haha nice man, keison if you could figure out what hotel is close to there where you get a discount at, let me know, i'll room with you and we could split the cost. Richee I get 35-36mpg city in my GT I drive so slowly smile.gif its all about how fast you accelerate. Lets just say I've had old people pass me before but idc im saving money. Also that park looks nice, not to big, not to small. Good photo opportunities, and if we get bored we could just go drive somewhere else its not like we have to stay there.

I'm up for Klondike too. I've never been there, but that area is very rural and isolated. It should be pretty cool. I say the sooner we nail down a time and place, the better.
