buying an engine, could someone help? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #68682 9 posts Started by mgnt232
I have a 1994 toyota Celica ST 1.8L 7A-FE
i found this engine http://www.jdmenginedepot.com/jdm_engine_d...olla/Prizm_7AFE
the person on the site, said "All that should ideally fit. The most qualified person to answer your question would be your mechanic." Could some one take a look for me. All the specs seem to be the same and it looks identical to the one i have, but it says its for a 93-99 prizm/corrola, i think the celica engine is the same as the corrola? am i correct, will this fit my car no problem? thanks-

It is the same engine and it will bolt right in. in some cases [Like with 5S swaps from Camry to Celica] there may be some differences in the sensors and/or secondary systems - your mechanic will just bolt your old parts onto your new motor.
Good luck

try not to double post. i saw that you posted same topic on the general discussion threads.

ya 7afe in japan has about 5 more hp. So a tad bit faster. I would consider a 4age silvertop or blacktop, just a thought.

since your already going to swap out engines why not go for something with a little more hp. 4age is direct bolt in just like the 7afe

Well yeah after some pretty significant wiring changes, ECU and a few other parts - it's not like you can just drop it in like it's another 7A

Yeah man I know you do - I just wanted to be sure he knew that so he didn't buy the wrong thing thinking he could just drop it in.
