It will but I don't recommend it because if you hit the clutch while it's holding a set speed the engine will sit and bounce off the rev limiter until you hit cancel or the brakes. The only reason I don't have one yet is because my parts came off of an auto trans car.

Yes i just want to bypass clutch sensor only once to test whole wiring.
Im thinking to splice into TPS near sensor. Easier to get there and more space to soldering

I am gathering parts to do this mod on my 1996 ST. I was hoping that it would be a plug and play mod but it appears that it is not. Lets see what happens as I am getting parts.
Actuator is installed but I cannot find the wiring that connects to the actuator. There is a wiring on the passenger side of the radiator that comes from underneath the radiator but the plug is different. Any insight>
This is not a plug and play mod unless you take the chassis and dash harness out of a donor car and then transplant into your 6gc. You will need to get the parts out of the donor cars wiring harness to make it all work. The plug in question will be at the cruise actuator on the donor vehicle and it runs under the radiator support to the drivers inner fender harness. Make sure the donor is an ST because the GT uses a different actuator.

Thank You Ryouxrs. I have the actuator from the ST as it fitted in my ST where it is supposed to. The wiring did not come with the actuator and i cannot locate the wire on my car. There is a harness that is not plugged and it comes out of the Relay box mounted on top near the windshield wiper fluid bottle on the passenger side. So far I have collected the following:
Steering wheel with switch that came with spiral cable;
Actuator from an ST and cable (No wiring)
Waiting on someone to sell me the CC module and the wiring.
I read your instructions many times. I understood most of it except a couple of spots I have no idea what are you saying. there are no vehicles in the salvage yards where I live so have to rely on this form or ebay.
If you have any questions I'll be glad to answer the best I can. The wiring for the cruise actuator will not be on your car at all, I'm not sure what plug you are referring too but like I said, you will have to install all of the wiring yourself. Just remembered something, if the wire harness that's not plugged in your talking about is a two pin connector then that goes to a temp switch in the radiator if you have a GT or a GT4. No need to worry about this connector with an st. It's just for radiator fan control.

Much Appreciated Ryouxrs. The connector next to the radiator now makes sense. I was talking about the round connector that plugs into the Actuator, I do not have that. The connector I am talking about is the one that plugs into the actuator. I think it runs from the CC ECU to the front of the car along the right hand side fender (I think).
That connector goes from the cruise actuator to the cruise control computer. But it's wiring actually runs from the right front fender, to under the upper radiator support then through the harness under the left front inner fender liner, through the firewall connector and then runs along the dash all the way to the right side of the dash where the cruise computer sits.

Got it thanks. I will double check this location. Do you think it may not have come with the NON-Cruise-equipped ST? Becuase most other cars including Toyota built the same wiring just not installed the parts. When you did yours, did you have this wiring already in place?
Unfortunately when it comes too the fog light wiring and the cruise control, none of the wiring will be in a car that didn't have those options, that's why I said you'll have to source the entire system from a donor car.
Lift Addict!! ^_^----------------------
Hey thanks, I will try to do that but I am facing a difficult task. For the 1996, I had the fog light wiring so it was plug and play. But the Cruise control I am afraid you are correct. Anyway I will keep trying to get all the parts. If not i can always install the aftermarket CC.
Ok. I have a 94 so it didn't have any of the fog light wiring either. Keep me posted on your install and I'll help anyway I can.

please see under the glove box, if you have the plug for the cruise control computer. i have some free days coming up, and need to know if you need this pigtail as well...

Thanks Ryouxrs as always I will keep you posted.
njccmd2002: I am out of town and heading home today. I will check it tonight to see if there are any wiring there. I would also need the ECU for CC.
thank You both for all the help.
The pigtail njccmd2002 is talking about should be behind the bolster on the right hand side of the glove box as you face it. It is a very large green connector. You can see an example of it on page one of this thread.

OK I just looked through behind the glove box and I do not see the green pigtail that is on page one of this thread. So I would need that. The only thing behind the glove box is an unused white connector with one side closed and has 6 red with blue stripe thin wires running to it and to the other half, it has 3 black w/ white stipe and two black (total 5) running to the back side of it. this is coming from the main wiring harness. The front of it is closed with while covers.

OK this picture will help. I don't think I have this pigtail. Is this part of the main wiring? I will reopen the box and examine again. I have to disconnect the battery so I can disconnect the airbag to remove the glove box completely.
Thank you for your help.
its part of the main dash wires.

Looks like all the pictures you've taken are of the wron location msk, the wires should be to the right of your first picture, and above and slightly rearward and left of your last picture. Njccmd2002's picture show where the cc ecu is in relationship to were your other pictures are. And sorry for the misunderstanding. It is a green connector that is larger in visual reference than all the other connectors that are close by in that area. I forget off of the tip of my head but it close to a 20 pin connector or so.

Yes, After seeing the picture njccmd2002 psoted, I realized that I took the pictures of wrong location. I was using my cell phone and was not able to see with glove box hanging there. Once I fully disconnect the glovebox I should be able to peek in there and take some more pictures tonight. I will then know whether I have that green harness/pigtail or not.
thanks again for all your help.
OK checked everything on the right hand side. It is pretty cramped in there. I do not see the wire with the green connector. So I do not have that pig tail. I have an empty spot where the CCECU can go but that is it.
quick question, if the clutch sensor is only used for the cruise, then why we have to depress the clutch to start the car....

there are two switches for the clutch pedal. One senses when the clutch is depressed ( a normally open switch) the other senses when the clutch is in its normal position (a normally closed switch)
Hmmm.. Ill go back and see tomorrow....

OK waiting on the parts and wiring pigtail from a member (thank You njccmd2002) and will take a day off to work on the wiring install. Will report back on what I did and what happens. Lots of parts to install.
Anyone have an idea what this means....

Cant find the explanation. Is it a switch or junction?

check the electrical manual and on page 9 it shows something similar called junction connector. there are no other symbol I found. I have a electrical manual for 1996
i figured it out, its only for automatic, and it does not concern manual, its the park switch, normally closed.
