Gonna take a 600 mile trip !st time in CELI What tools to bring? - 6G Celicas Forums

I am about to take a 12 hour trip there and back. I am going to a cabin in ALABAMA. I live in NEW ORLEANs. I just got her back up an going strong but only have 50 -100 miles on it since the turbo blew, Fuel filter clogged an fuel pump sock clogged. Before that I only had 3000 miles on her since the swap. And only one 2 hour trip. I am a little worried about breaking down but the car has always started right up dont burn oil and no oil leaks engine is clean an been good to me so far. My question is what tools to take I have a 10mm, 12mm & 14mm socket, wrench set going and some pliers. The only issues I ever had was the silicone coupler blowing an coupler popping off. I am bringing a extra coupler. Just changed the oil and wires/ plugs. Anything I am forgetting to take? This is my first toyota and with only 3000+ miles on it I am wondering how reliable is your toyota celica? I have heard now and years in past the toyotas are good for 300,000 miles maintenced good. And that there reliable cars. What about the 3sgte? I know the 5sfe is reliable and My dad had a tercel not sure what engine but It ran forever. Should I be worried or confident on taking this trip in ,my celica?

I normally roll daily with a bunch of couplings and the screw type throw away clamps cause you can install them easier on the side of the road. Water/Oil/etc

You'll be find - the 3S built right is a fcukin tank [assuming quality OEM parts and maintenace]
You do have FMIC or w2a IC right? No BBQ pits under that hood?

I'd normally say just pack a cooler, some snacks, a few CDs, and a phone.

but it sounds like your still uncovering new problems or something. 50-100 miles is only about 2 days of driving for me. I guess the question is, how confident are you in your repairs?

Well I am leaving Friday morning and I drove about 50 miles today. Everything seems fine. I have a fmic so I am good there oils good and plugs wires. I did notice a small vertical crack on my ac/alternator belt. SO I am getting one In the morning and install it before I leave. As far as my repairs it seems like the prblems I had was happening over and over like the dam couplers popping off and clamps being cheap but I have all quality clamps and couplers on it now so other thanthat I cant think of aanything that would happen. But I tell you what I am excited this is my first real road trip in the car an I am going to have a blast. I love driving my celica thats for sure. Will get some pics of the trip.
well i drove about 400 miles to ohio in the boosted celica so i think ull be fine lol.

never made it with the celi did not take it because I needed room for camping stuff. Took my truck. Went to take a ride in the celi a week later and the motor mount stud broke in the drive way good thing I did not take it.
AAA is all you need if anything serious goes wrong.. otherwise, goodluck, drive safe and have fun! oh btw, we're leaving tomorrow in the celi for ufc 100 in vegas which is about 1200+ miles round trip.

Leaving on a trip tomorrow as well, driving from Fort Myers to Jacksonville...first time I'm driving the Celica for that type of mileage, it's about 625 miles round-trip.

Speaking of long trips, I'm taking my 96 ST to North Carolina. About 1200 miles round trip. I'm not too worried though, I'm just bringing my tool box, and that's it. I think it can take it. Plus, my car is a baby, it's only got 74,000 miles on it.
