Oil in IC piping with smoke... - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #67952 6 posts Started by racer4street
I just bought another 6gen Celica with a turbo 5sfte engine. The car runs great other than the smoke (blue) that comes out between shifts (only under alot of boost). This morning i drove the car very easy without alot of boost and it did not smoke but later when i drove it and opened it up it started smoking really bad when i let of the gas to change gears, etc. I checked my PCV (con. hose only to see fluid) and it looked fine. Today i took the "U" IC pipe off the turbo and did not see any oil but tonight i took off part of the IC piping that goes to the intake and it has a bunch of oil in it...are my turbo seals bad or is the turbo bad? Any help would be great.
do you have a catch can instaled? they will pervent that from happening, but you might need new seals i unno....i assume if it doesnt happed unless your are in high boost a catch can will solve it

i hate snow, missing my celica
yeah sounds like turbo seals or is your breather run back to pre turbo intake? if it is then a catch can will solve your problem

How do i install a catch can on the 5sfte engine? From PCV valve ("T" connection) to catch can and from catch can to intake manifold or what?
my money is on bad seals in the turbo. it needs a rebuild.

A new oil catch can fixed the problem and runs GREAT! Thanks for the help.
