Haha thank you! Much more to go soon enough.

It works alot better than the SRI did, though it is still a SRI, just ducted to my fender cold air access.

Drives more than 20 minutes its certainly noticable, doesn't feel like she is tired from sucking all that hot air. Powerwise..well, lol none. I just like the noise and look of it. I believe I would have to get my whole exhaust done to feel any real power gain from it...havn't gotten that far into the build yet =P
Project on hold......

Pending my transfer to Flordia, and big promotion. Big changes, gota move my life...next chapter.

Now the question is...will I continue to turn my own wrench, or pay for it to be done. I think I'll continue to turn my own, as i do not get satisfaction out of openning my wallet, like I do getting my hands dirty.

Damn 6gc has turned me into a grease monkey!
While project is on hold...

3rd Gen 3sgte payment made.

Will arrive in some months, as arranged.

Hella power increase to come, hope to have the swap done before winter.

Oh yea, Visor install, blacked tails, and new springs.

Cool. thumbsup.gif Can't say I'm a fan of the dark tails, but it does complement the fuel flap nicely. Where in FL?

'97 ST\ Eibach \ KYB \ Kenwood \ Alpine \ Cusco \ OEM+[sold 10/18]'93 MX-5LE
I like the rear window wing/visor where did you get it?
nice ride ! im gonna paint mine in black 100 % sure
The tails i'm not to hot on. Temp either way, being I want to get the JDM ones, but the cheap can of spray stiffled my hunger to tweak something on the car at the time =P

Looking at Gainesville FL, the lady has already signed up for classes at Santa Fe, so possible as soon as middle of May.

CoreyST:

Look up vincent_doggy on the forums here. He fabs up alot of stuff for 6gc's, i'm not sure if he is still producing the visor, but you can either contact him directly, or order through his site kamikazi...something, in his profile =P - best send him a PM and ask what you are looking for. Most all my exterior pieces, excluding the rainguards are from him. Check'em out.

Needles:

Black is beautiful, but a bish to keep clean!
I love the tails. looks nice!

1994 Celica GT, coupe, 5 speed.Front strut brace, cherrybomb glasspack, intake.
you gotta get rid of that gold emblem on the back LOL. find the shadow emblems, those are hella rare but it'll make your car complete. either that or just debadge it. tongue.gif

Lol yea I certainly do need to get rid of those badges...just been lazy with the outside, clear is starting to look like it has cancer on the front fender. Got all the pieces I want besides skirts, so i figured i'll tackle the body work once I get the swap done. The 7a is starting to sqeeze every penny out of me.

Clutch last month, battery was shot few weeks ago, and now the altenator bearings are screaming...which is what I believe shot the last battery so time to get that fixed...today =/
Final Payment made on 3sgte

Shall arrive in 4-6 weeks.

List of things to purchase:

S54 & linkage cables
Clutch Kit 3s clutch 5s plate =/
GT Throttle Cable
MAF Sensor?
GT AC lines - Compressor?
GT Rad Lines
GT Rad? - Aren't they the same from the ST to GT? If not...koyo will be purchased, and fans reversed.
Water Pump & lines
Complete seal kit before install
Timing belt
Hood of some sort, being stock intercooler will be used.

Mount and Crossmemeber already arranged.
Harness already converted
Already have a walbro pump
Guages will be done in a slightly different fashion - I will be using a Ladder logic PLC to control serial data input to a small IPX computer that will display programable guages to a small screen that will lift from the former air bag on the passenger side. While accomplishing this, most likly will just grab some cheap guages to monitor the import fields..boost oil?

3sgte came in today.

Was quite amusing as the delivery guy said "This must be a engine for a Tundra!" I say, no sir, and point to my celica...his jaw dropped =P

Much to do, much to purchase.

Going to be quite some time before I finish this swap, but thats how I roll. Slow, but right.

Found a service manual for it online, PDF form. Not sure who may need it, but I suggest grabbing it. These tend to disappear.

Oh while we are on the topic...

Can anyone tell me wth I do with this AWD trannie. Basically, where I can exchange this bugger for some shells to invest in a S54.
glad to see the motor came in, looks clean!

i just completed my swap this summer after having the motor for a year and buyin part by part researchin and such until my parts pile was big enough to start and finish the swap, hope everything goes smooth for you!

as for the tranny, just post it up and see if anyone will buy it. there isnt a HUGE market for them since theres not alot of awd 6gcs around here but there are people who convert them to fwd.

lol same here, just researching and buying. Thankfully it came in right around tax time, so I can take care of alot of other maint issues with the cellie that i've been ignoring. To ashamed to list them out...nothing major, but its long!

Thanks for that info, I'll have to snap that trannie off, and get her up for sale.
Started tearing the 3s down during my lunch break. Didn't get to far, but feels good to turn a wrench again.

I need to get it on a stand, but the deal I had on a hoist and stand on craigslist got sold out from under me. So potentially just going to buy new ones to get around the hassle of used items.

Useless pic!

I was trying to find any tell tale signs of the engines usage and age, but was unable to really figure that out.

The dipstick did not have any burns or shown excessive heat. Forgot my spark socket or I would have pulled one to see that. Took the oil cap off, but couldn't really see down there. Turbo doesn't seem to have any play..I assume thats good =P

One thing I did notice, is there is a black film on the intake manifold on the exit of the intercooler...is that normal? That same film was on the turbo air inlet.

I have no answers for you, but I'll be watching for sure. Good luck thumbsup.gif
Todays activities included...getting that wiring harness off!

Was interesting, I did not remove the intake manifold, took me a good 20 mins to find all the little things to disconnect to get it through. That last ground wire under the manifold tricked me for a bit =P I might take it off to reinstall it.

I also need to figure out who is paying for this harness conversion...it was sappose to be done, so time to send some messages =P

Gunna be sitting like that for a while. Next action is to remove that trannie, and get it up for sale. Speaking of which, anyone need the mount for it? I can easily remove it.
Primed!

No idea on accent color I want. Always said red, but everyone has red!

I think yellow one would look great, and it's easy to repaint yellow colour biggrin.gif

lookin good man! i was in the same boat about red, cuz everyone does have it but it alwayss looks good lol.

as for the black film, its probably just carb residue from the turbo.. my turbo had the same thing as well as inside the manifold.

there really is no way in telling the mileage with out buying a clip but take a look at the top of the timing belt cover, my cover had it written down when the timing belt was last changed and usually shows the miles as well.. mines was like 37k at like 2002.. its going to be in japanese form take a pic and i can help translate the dates for you, thats if its on there lol

Ah thanks for that info Ted, but of course I get that motor that doesn't have it biggrin.gif But, while I was investigating, I took a gander at the timing belt and all involved in that area. Belt looks brand new, and everything else pretty clean, slightly more dirty then my Lady's car with 57k on it. So I can only assume its around that area.

Back to the wiring harness.

I've read the horror threads, the nightmares, and the mess ups of others attempting to do it themselves. I respect the professionals that convert these harnesses for the community, as I know from personal exp its no simple task. Though, I work with wires daily, schematics, and many other fun items quite close to this harness technology. I'm debating on doing it myself.

I've noted the 33' extension of the harness from the LHD to RHD. That is no biggie, easiely accomplished. Changing and matching pins from the connectors should also not be a big issue. I do that nearly monthly on DB25 connectors for satellite automation which are actually smaller and have to be soldered =P - The part I think would get me in a bind is the IC relay, and another relay that is near the rad that I'm not positive I have at the moment. I'm sure I can source a copy relays easy here from work, but I'm not positive on there throws yet.

But then again, it might be another one of those situations where I said "how the hell can someone charge ??? for ???" (This isn't saying the price isn't fair, i'm just cheap if I feel I have the ability) do it myself and see exactly why they charge that much! My clutch was a prime example =P

Edit: I also forgot I do not have my 7a harness to cut up for spare wire for the extension, being I'm still driving it...aaahahhh choices

Lol, I probally read that wrong, or wrote it out wrong. See, I might as well just send it to you =P - I keep looking at it in the back of the cellie right now, and each day I'm leaning more at getting it done.

Edit: Come to think of it, I'll be tangled enough in wires when it comes time to wire up the plc...so I estimate a package your way in Feb. =P

Thanks!

Its not looking so hot right now due to the recent wreck, but I'm debating on what to do with it at the moment.

I've taken measurements on both strut towers, they are equal. So no bending has happened. Everything else looks fine within the tower as well. I mentioned a possible hole, but it is not as serious as I thought. Tiny really, grind out the bad and reinforce, if even needed.

All the damage was done to the lower control arm that supports the strut attached to the suspension crossmember.

As well one tie-rod is bent. Reviewing some documents it would appear it is not such a bad repair after all. None of the mounting points for the suspension crossmember itself appear bent. Just the bushings within the control arm appear torn.

Thinking of taking the funds and repairing it. Need to look into FL salvage laws since I'll eventually have to title it here.
Good luck man
Glad to see this story getting a happy ending
