MR2 vs Celica - 6G Celicas Forums

So as some of you know Im looking at either an MR2 or a Celica. Well I drove a Celica the other night and fell in love with it. My question is this, does the MR2 feel as smooth as the Celica, you know like power everything. Well Im stuck on getting a celica right now and this guy was going to buy an mr2 from just emailed me and said it was still available cause the day I went to meet him I couldnt get a hold of him. So anyways Im gonna low ball him and if he takes it then Im gonna go for it.

But I just wanna know is the ride in a MR2 as good or superior to a Celica. Im thinking superior since the MR2 was considerably more money. Oh and we are talking about a turbo mr2.

And the MR2T is less in insurence then the Celica GT, imagine that eh. So I dont know what to do, Im just bloody torn, I have that twisty feeling in my stomach, will I be blown away by the MR2 enough to buy it? Thanks guys
yup. I hate to say it but the mr2 turbo will blow you away. hearing the roar of a 3sgte 6 inches from your head is hard to beat.
if the insurance is cheaper for the mr2t theres no question as to which ones better.
MR2's are hot, no doubt about it. And the turbos are pretty fast. The only thing i dont like, is the size. My brother has an MR2 and its too small for me, and I dont like flip up heads, and the engine noise is kinda high, cuz its right behind ur head. Those are my only Cons, i still love the car tho its tight.

the flip ups make it look cool but it also can lead to problems. And putting subs in is going to be either a)really hard, or b) impossible because the trunk is behind the engine.

Interesting. I'd say go for the MR2 if your looking for speed. Celica if your about style.

i am awesome
I can see why you're having a tough decision deciding... I was in the same position back in 94...

I ended up deciding on the Celica because I thought that it was more practical for my needs in terms of being able to transport my DJ equipment and people. I liked the design of the MR2 better, but the Celica was better for my needs during that time.

I have no regrets at all with owning a Celica, considering that my brother has an MR2 and I can drive it whenever he doesn't need to use it.

if you have the ability to get or have a winter/cargo vehicle get the MR2, if not, get the celica. an MR2 will just be a headache if you dont have something to drive daily. if you do though, by all means MR2!! theres no greater sound than the turbo spooling close to 2 feet behind your ears. and no, the engine sound isnt too loud, its nice b/c you can hear all the pumps and accessories, so you can tell real early by sound if something is out of the ordinary.

its a rough choice, if you like both cars, base the decision on how much you are going to drive it. how much maintanence you are willing/can do, if you have a reliable 2nd car, what kind of driving will be done with the car. if you think about those things, it should be an obvious decision

Believer, you'll leave her, in leaving them allNo but I don't buy itLike anything you do, as anyone you areCause I'm...Ten Speed, of God's Blood & Burial
