Man was it ever a nice ride and it had some decent power. I was really impressed with it. I was going to buy it BUT I saw a good sized patch of rust on the drivers door, what a let down, 6 hours in my sisters crappy car, then driving this awesome celica only to find rust, dammit!!! Oh well I guess there will be others. But it was sexy thats for sure, it was black.
Drove a celica tonight! - 6G Celicas Forums
Was that the black one in K-W?
There are a few on auto trader this week, but last month was prime time for celica buying. If you are looking for a 94/95 celi in Ontario with original paint, IT IS GOING TO HAVE RUST. If you find one without, it was either painted, or a summer only car - wich will be way exp. Looking at what you wanted to spend, accept the rust and try to make freinds with someone who can give you a deal on paint. My 94 is original paint and the bottoms of the doors are getting bad. Once I land a job for post-grad, I am going to paint mine, thinking about a nice copper/orange metallic, just need to do a little custom body work, when I get time >

Good luck, and let us know what you pick up

if you find a black celi expect to find rust if it's been driven in the snow at any time... the salt just eats up the paint...

I rushed into the Celica, soon as I had the cash, but I don't reget it.
But then, I was planning on one since 1994, so I guess, I didn't rush it.
But, the power isn't much to me, it's more for comfort, CD listening and economy.
I got a 300zx TT for a toy, it's got power, but is real noisy and eats fuel.
The Celica is a great sports-touring car for all occasions.
Which is why I will always hold the 6Gen higher than most others.
And not forgetting a hell of a lot cheaper to insure than the 300zx.
So look around, you'll find one in good nick, just got to look.

95 black GT driven year-round by the previous owner, no rust whatsoever. Any tips on prevention?

Repaint once the rust starts to show...lol. My bottoms of my doors are really crappy on my Celi...I keep my RX stored in the winter. BUT if you're going to a drive a car year round when you got salty winters...you're going to get rust most likely. A few ways to prevent it are to wash your car really well once or twice a week...sometimes more if there's a lot of ice on the roads where they dump tons of salt. Make sure if you don't do it yourself that you go to a place that has underbody sprayers that will spray the underbody of your car to get all of the salt off too.

Well I know if I hold out ill be able to find something with little flaw, like I cant wait to gewt a new car but I have my sisters so its no big deal. I know of tons of cars around here with no rust that are that old, like I said my mx had no rust. I think it just depends how good the person took care of the car, like underbody spray, cleaning, and waxing.
I dont want perfection, just something that wont cost me an arm and a leg, and yes i know they are hard to find but ill just be patient, we are getting into the colder months which means cheap cars! >

Yea i know how that is with the rust...my 94 was driven year-round and only spent about half of its life semi-garaged. So like snadman was saying, my doors are rusting at the bottom pretty bad too, but nothing that saving my money wont solve in a few months. >

My advice on the car- as long as its in good mechanical conditon and well priced, i wouldnt hesitate getting a car that needs a little bit of bodywork. Thats what i did, and i dont regret it. >
