power folding, looks cool. i only fold them once a month, to look cool. I really dont like the 5th gen. IMO looks like a 5th gen LMAO

whats so special about 5thgen mirrors?
i dont think folding mirrors is that cool, more cooler to press a buttin to adjust the mirror from your seat wink.gif

5th gen mirrors have a bladed look.

How about 5th gen Samurai style JDM folding mirrors???? biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I don't normally drive fast, but when I do its on a curvy section of this island
Dont the folding mirrors fold when you also turn off the car? Too much candy, think stock looks just as great

I like those 5th gen ganador mirror style, but at the same time, they look kind of out of place on a 6th gen. OEM MIRRORS FTW!!!!
What's so cool about folding mirrors?? Maybe in Japan where they're needed, but not here in the states. The 5th gen mirrors have a much more sleek and slippery appearance, and seem to fit the lines of the 6th gen quite well.

except for when they meet the door, I had them on my car and from distance they look nice, when you get close, you can tell they don't belong there.
Look at the very botton of the triangle where it almost meets the door. Maybei s just me, but I don't like that

this is how Power folding 5th gen mirrors look
I had them on my ST185ATA nice feature but they weigh a tonne, my UK spec Carlos didn't come with them though. I think my Jap ST205WRC came with them as the button is there if i remember correctly but the mirrors are now changed so i can't use that feature when i get the car back.
I vote for JDM power folding however... still it's too much work and money to make them work on LHD for me.

No more replicas... This is evolution... This isSS-four:)________[Featured Celica of 6gc.net @ 2010]_________

not true martin,

I got mine all done including the cost of the mirrors and parts for 80 dollars tongue.gif

LHD glass conversion is as easy as removing the glass on the right side and puting some washers to make the glass bend a little.
my jdm power folding mirrors automatically close when i turn off the car and unfold when i turn it to on =D i don't have a button on my mirror control. i got a switch to disable it from auto-folding/unfolding tho

JDM power folding. 5th gen mirrors just look old, out of place, and cheap on our cars in my opinion. They definitely don't belong.

I've heard that swapping the mirrors into USDM housing will make them not fold up all the way though...

Why would you swap housings? Why not just swap the glass on the RH mirror? Can't you remove the glass?

I actually really like how 5th gen mirrors look on 6gcs but between the 2 I'd take the power folding mirrors over the 5th gens. Those 5th gen folding mirrors looked nice though, I wonder if they'd fit on a 6GC if someone could actually FIND a pair of 5G ones

by swapping houses you dont have to worry about painting your new mirrors to match your car. yes you can swap the glass
