So I received a phone call this morning from WALKER, and it went a little something like this:

KAOS: "Hello...?"
WALKER: "Whats up? You at home right now?"
KAOS: "Yup just working on the Vee-Dub all day today..."
WALKER: "Cool; we'll be there shortly..."

About a half hour later, "WALKER" and "ZenAutoworks" (Dave & Sean) pull up to my house...
... I was ready with my camera... lol.

(Sorry for the Blair Witch effect, but if you listen carefully, you can hear me giggling like a little school girl... ok, you don't have to listen all that hard. biggrin.gif)

This car is a dream come true for me; I can only imagine how the new owner feels. smile.gif

Somebody correct me if Im wrong, but I believe this is the first WRC GT-FOUR in Canada and its owner, WALKER:

And David was nice enough to let me have my way with his car... smile.gif

No emblems were hurt in the having of my own way:

The interior is mint; such a great find!

I didn't really have much time to take any more pictures; but I did get to go for a quick ride in it... and wow - is it ever weird riding in the passenger seat of a right hand drive vehicle... redface.gif

The battery died on me right away, but you can see the auto-climate control and the huge bulge of a hood that the GT-Four is... lol.

Enjoy!

... I'm totally set on buying one now... smile.gif

Thanks Dave & Sean; you totally made my day!!

We're not even too sure; we noticed it just before they took off from my place... they'll have to tear it apart to see what the wiring is leading to...

As for the cost; it wasn't cheap.

61XXX KM's + WRC + CANADIAN COMPLIANCE = First born child + left testicle I'm sure.

why not hit the switch and see what happens? I'm guessing its the fog light switch.

Heat shielding for the W2A intercooler?

I figured it would be about 20 times cooler than an STI but it's only about 18 times cooler.

Great car !!!

That switch adjusts the brightness of the instrument panel lighting.
Watch at the left side of steering wheel:

I guess someone broke the switch and replaced it with that stick. Don't you have that switch in your cars??

Not on a GT4.....nothing so posh on these cars....usually its a blank...on cars imported to the UK its turned into a fog light switch....if its from Japan then it`ll be whatever the previous owner intended it to be, it could be anything.

I always wanted a switch to do that to my dials....but on my GT4 its a fog light switch....and on pretty much every other GT4 I have been in / worked on / seen its either a fog light switch, a boost controller switch or a blank......it must be an option from dealers as thats the first time I have seen a dial dimmer switch on a GT4.

Maybe only an option on Australian GT4s

Hey guys. I am pretty excited to have a GT-FOUR. Finally the 15 year rule hit here in Canada for legal importing of ST205's! I have to thank Sean at Zen Autoworks for helping me get my dream car! He is a great guy and I would highly recommend talking to him if you are seriously thinking of importing a car to Canada.

As for all of you wondering how much it cost, well that is between me and Sean. The cost is definately much more than a ST204 would run you since this is a mint car. It's ST205 WRC with ~60,000 kilometers on it and is extremely clean. To me though the cost was cheap when you compare it to any new vehicle on the market these days and when it's my dream car and I would pick this over anything new.

As for that switch it doesn't control the fog lights as those are on the stalk with the headlights. It may be a dimmer for the interior lights, I will have to look into that and see.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I guess we will have to see how many viewings and rides it will take for Jeremey (KAOS) to lose his school girl laugh!

I also posted a few more pictures in the multimedia section.

For those of you that don't know, I ran into this when I had my first JDM and I was going crazy looking for a dial to turn up the brightness of the dash.

JDM Celicas (I've had 3 of them including my GT-Four) do not have anything installed in that place, it's a blank circle, they don't come with dash dimmers. The backlight on the dash only has 2 modes, on or off. Cuts_the_pilot's GT-Four WRC is an export model (Australian version) and has the same dash dimmer that comes in USDM Celicas, also notice his manual aircon in his other pics.

A common thing to be installed in that place is a switch to short the hand brake circuit on the DVD head unit when an LCD is installed as it only displays when the handbrake is up as a safety standard.

But since it is a turbo car, it's most likely to be something to do with boost.

I know it's totally a thread jack, but what is the clock-overlay in that car?

1999 Celica GT
its not an overlay... the clock has been removed and replaced with a greddy boost controller

Breaking Axles...

I will lose my school-girl laugh when you are willing to let me try my hand at a right-hand drive car... lol.
You & I both know that the GT-Four is my/our dream car, every since Gran Turismo on the Playstation I've wanted one... biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Dave; I had a dream that the unknown switch forced the car to transform into a robot. redface.gif

Thats right; I dream about your car too... laugh.gif

(BTW, can't see sh!t in that pic you posted... fix the link?)

SO nice bowdown.gif

I am definitely going to have to see that sometime soon. Really great pickup there Walker!

lol @ KAOS' girly giggles! laugh.gif
yep everything you all have summerised is correct.

the switch is indeed a dash backlight dimmer, all aus delivery 205's have them, and infact all aus delivery celicas for that matter, right back to the ta's and ra's.

yes we also all have manual air con (which is fine by me, doesnt look as cool as climate control tho), again all aus delivery celicas have manual air con including 7th gens.

and yes thats a boost controller where the clock once was.

anywho back on topic. Sweet asGT-Four man.
