Alternator for Toyota Celica ST 1997 Coupe.

Whats up guys. I am selling my 180 Amperage Alternator. Bought from EA for 380 shipped. This alt is in perfect condition. The only reason I am selling is because I am going to be running 8000 wrms @ and will be replacing it with a 300 amp alternator.

This alt will keep up with 3000 wrms with the proper electrical upgrades.

I was running it on 2000 wrms with a kinetik hc1800 under the hood and a power master d3100 in the trunk, I never whent under 13.3 volts(even @ full tilt) Lights never dimmed on me, and whenever I will step on the gas the beam lights light up even more. You will love it.

I will let it go for 300 Shipped.

300AMPS???? You know when you run an alternator with that much amps, you lose "idle power" Which means you alternator won't charge at idle as good as if you we're revving the engine to let's say 3000 RPM. You will still get a good charge from the alternator at idle, but thought I'd just let you know that it's sort of an overkill.

I wont loose any power at idle at all. DC Engineering is a good company that does one of the best alternators out there. They will be building a large case alternator on the latest generation large case alternators, not yesterdays tech.. I could go more into detail but trust me. I know it’s a large case conversion but I will only have to do a little modification to the adjustment bracket but nothing major.. Other than that it will be a plug and play install and I will retain the factory battery light function and everything which is sweet.

With respect to your statement about idle output, normal pulley ratio’s on there alternators are about 3:1 to 3.5:1 which would mean at 1000 engine rpm, the minimum speed of the alternator itself is about 3000 RPM, and that alternator will make right at 200 amps at that speed That is a little optimistic though for idle speed, I should be around 700-750 engine, and right at 22-2300 alternator RPM which will give me right at 140-150 amps, hot at idle which is just phenomenal. The alternator will also come with one of there trick black anodized aluminum overdrive pulleys(which helps increase idle speed to the alternator)

300 amps is not over kill when I have this much power running. Dropping my amp @ .5 Ohms(stetsom 7kd) pulls over 800 amps, producing over 10,000 wrms @ .5 ohms @ around 15 + volts doing 2 - 3 seconds burps, and I will be burping this amp for competitions, but of course ill have enough battery back up, it'll be a breeze.
