So i have a lot of water in my drivers side taillight. I finally got pulled over for have no taillights on that side. So i figured it was time to fix it.

So is this a common thing? And if so what are the common fixes?

Another thing. I got the bulbs out. But it looks like some of the connections are starting to corrode. Is it a bad thing for this? Or can i just put new lights in and it work.

Never heard of anyone getting water in their taillights. As far as corrosion, try to clean it up as best as you can. As far as new lights, yeah I dont see why they wouldnt work (unless you have that much stuff built up in the sockets, or the wires are shot)

Yea i tried searching and couldnt find anything.

And i cant seem to see anywhere were the water came in. So im at a lose as to how to prevent it.

Take off the tail lights and give it a good vis inspection.

They shouldnt be that hard to get off. Three screws and unscrew the bulb harness. You got a coupe or hatch, vert maybe?

oh i got it off. i didnt have metric deep sockets and they didnt want to come off by hand after i got them loose. i had to use a wrenche all the way

Its a hatch.

That sucks. Yeah your gonna need a lot of metric stuff. Alot of 10's....Check the back of the housing, there may be a crack or hole in there.

I hade the same problem...except my glas was broken så I knew their would be water in the taillight as soon as it started to rain.

My sugestion is to take it out...tape over the holes wher the bulbs are and then put the taillight in the bathtub or something. Then you should be able to se where the airbubbles are comming from...
