hey how would i determine if the radiator cap is the problem with a leakage within the radiator??
also, would you recommended a replacement cap from autozone??

There are special tools to to check radiator cap pressure....go to a garage and ask them to check it for you..

If you were to buy a tester...your looking for something like this. Although if you suspect that the cap is the problem, then as long as long as its in OEM specs, then you should be fine. Secondly, are you 100% that your cap is the problem? Maybe the cap is fine and you have a hairline fracture somewhere?

oh ok.. coolant fluid was found at the top of radiator but no spot leaks were found after driven for 15 mins.. could possibly be a hairline fracture but not sure.. thank goodness i've got another 6gc in the house tho.. I'll switch radiator caps and take a drive test tomorrow to the gym and check for results.

yeah i just replaced my rad because it had a hairline crack at the top (near the cap). it was soo small that it was barely even noticeable.. the only way i noticed it was that my car was already fully warmed up and there were bubbles seeping.

That makes two of us....although im convinced i was set up for failure though. I think that auto stores who do the "loan a tool" program should have that tester. Just slap some cash down real quick, test it, and get your money back. Its probly the easiest way to do it.

just found out that a friend has a pressure tester.. will perform a test if the cap fails. thanks guys for all the replies so far!
