I was wanting to put a turbo kit in my 7afe engine with an automatic trans. Will the trans be able to handle the turbo? Is a supercharger a better way to go? I know I can only push so much on this engine and I was aiming for 175 HP when im done. Any suggestions? I have about 1500 for engine mods.

turbo and Supercharger will run u way more than 1500.
and the supercharger no one makes one. I would recomend getting another 2000 bucks and goin for a 4age or 4agze swap and those will get u to the Hp u are lookin for.

i have an auto tranny and a turbo setup
turbos love auto tranny's. dont have to let off the gas and the turbo never slows down till you want to slow down.
superchargers are a waste of time on a i4 car in my opinion. they arent as efficient and not as easy to up the boost as with a turbo.
but they are less stressfull on the engine.
i say turbo, from first hand experience. at 6psi i ripped apart a 1998 celica GT 5spd with IHE and i gave him a couple car length head start.
now im trying out 8psi and with me and two of my friends in my car its still faster than my friend's 91 3000gt SL

How bout turbo+supercharger+cold air intake. Too much for engine?
