Put in my new bulbs - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #6445 14 posts Started by Phr0z3n664
I needed a new low beam bulb so I just decided to replace all the headlight bulbs at once. I picked up some Cool Blues for the lows and Silvania Silverstars for the highs.
I noticed a big difference, I rarely have to use my high beams anymore, and if I do use the, the silverstars do a nice lighting job.

Just thought I'd let you guys know, in case you ever need new headlight bulbs that both of these companies make good bulbs.

I'm Happy! >biggrin.gif>
Thats cool, but doesn't Sylvania make both of those bulbs.

I threw away the boxes, the Sliverstars said Silvania at the top, the Cool Blue just said that, if I remember correctly. The silverstars come in a fancy box, while the cool blues have just a simple piece of cardboard w/ a plastic front

They are both made by Sylvania. I have the Cool Blues in all four lights. Even before I got them my lights were amazingly bright.

The biggest problem I had was aiming the lights. It took me a while to figure out that there was another adjustment bolt almost underneath the low beams.
I'm going to get some new bulbs soon that run at 80 watts for the 9006s and 100 for the 9005s, and I'll upgrade my headlight wiring, so my lights will be very bright. Even though I love my APC Ion bulbs because they're so unique and look sweet, they just don't give me the brightness that I want.

New Toyota project coming soon...

New Toyota project coming soon...
How blue are these? I have like whiteish blueish Street Glow ones right now and I want like more blueish whiteish.

i am awesome
there is a way to adjust the lighting? I thought you just slipped in the new bulb and turn it for it to lock into place, then connect it to the socket. I am happy w/ the lights now, but I would like to know how to adjust them
This might be dumb but does Silvania make good light housings? I need to replace the headlights on my 1985 Lesabre. I saw them at the shop and wanted to know if any of you have used them on another vehicle

I was just asking about positioning
To reposition them, there are two bolts on the back of each housing. I believe it was a 10 mm, but it might have been 12.
Just park on a level surface facing a wall/fence/whatever and aim the lows slightly lower than level and face them right a hair(so you don't blind oncoming drivers), and the highs should be straight l/r and up a little from level(remember that all four are on, so the lows will still light up the street).
i got silverstars in my lows, they work great and look really nice, especially with my fogs, they are same color. the silverstars are mainly white with very little bluish in them
