Living in NC, has some disadvantages with ordering - 6G Celicas Forums

I live in north carolina and if you import an engine from any other state or country (especially another country) you have to contend with emissions and other B.S. from government inspections people... I was going to get the supercharged 4A-GZE engine but I don't want to go through all of that to get it...

SO after some people wrecked my Celica ST, I decide to get me a 2001 Camaro V8. And now I have had the oportunity to race a 2003 Celica GTS... I won and I have to admit it I have an auto going against a 6 speed and still won even thou my car is like 700 or more pounds heavier, GO FIGURE!!

I just wanted to say that in some states you have to contend with the government inspection polices and some people don't want that... Thanks later yal... >biggrin.gif>
Thanks for the tip. Most of us already realize things like this, and if you have hook-ups, you can usually get by just fine. >smile.gif>

Anyway, good luck with your new car.

New Toyota project coming soon...

damnit I thought you were gone!!!

FYI no one cares
The problem with Camaros(and Firebirds) is that the extra weight makes them slow as piss through corners. Just a couple weeks ago my 95 ST beat the hell out of a late 90's SS Camaro through a nice set of twisties. He was so PO'd that when we got back to the straight(he was about 200 ft behind me after 3 sharp turns that I took at 80 and he had to slow down to 40 or so for), he finally caught up and flew by me(still holding 80) going at least 120. We hit the next turn with me being 200-300 ft behind, and by the end of the short right-left I was side by side with him again.
