I just got KYB Gr-2's installed in my car (my stock sstruts went straight to hell). I noticed that they are better, but extremely stiff. I feel like my car is a bit bouncy as if it had been lowered. Is it supposed to feel like this or is it just the "break-in" period of the struts? I am running 205-50-16's, so I don't think the tire is making that much of a difference. Otherwise, they are pretty damn good struts. Ed.

did you switch to the 16" wheels the same time, because that in combination with new shocks will alter the ride drasticly, but if not depending how bad your last shocks were it will make a very noticeable difference in ride
give them about a week to break in... and if after that you still have to much bounce check you springs

Well, the 16's were on before. I am not sure if my shocks were good at that point in time, I think I've been riding these ****ed up shocks for a while. I'll give em a week. If it is still a bit bumpy, does this mean my springs are shot? Ed.
did you install the gr-2's?
Yeah, I too would like to know if you installed them, and if you ran into any problems while doing so. Such as having to add washers to the top of the strut shaft or anything weird.
yea, i met up with like 20 other people the other day to street race and found out that my struts are totally crapped out, so i gotta get some struts. would like koni yellows but they are so expensive and i probably wouldnt even adjust them much
I wish I knew how to install them. No, I didn't have a clue, and if it took a professional 3 hours to do it, it's gonna take me weeks. I paid some one $200 to install it and align it, which is a pretty sweet deal.
It's really not that hard at all to do. Just a few little things that need to be done so as to not mess things up. Stupid toyota though changed the amount of washers, or something or other, on the strut shaft.
they are an easy install if you are not comfortable pick up a shop manual for $20 at pepboys and you are golden. I could do all 4 in about 2 hours tops
Yeah, it's not hard at all. I had bad rear strut mounts though, and the KYB ones are absolutely horrible.
If they are absolutly horrible then how come coomer has them. He seems satisfied.

The KYB Replacement Mounts don't dampen anything. There's no rubber, no cushioning material. They're all metal, and the little groove that the strut shaft fits into wore out in about 2 days. Took the struts off and the strut mount would rotate around the strut shaft, that ain't supposed to happen.
