Dreams and reality - 6G Celicas Forums

Ok, so for the past year + I've been having these bad dreams (practically nightmares) about my car being vadalized, broken into, stolen, beaten on ect... It only happens once in a while, but I have no idea why. Today though, I was bored at work and started thinking about how these types of dreams keep comming back to me. I pretty much settled on that it must be my subconscience telling me something about my obsession with the car (either I'm overly protective, or not enouph or something idk).

Anyway, when I get out of work today, I come out to my car covered in saran wrap. Mind you, mine was the only one in the whole parking lot (of at least 20 other cars around) that had saran wrap around it. At first I was pretty mad, but then after going around the car and making sure there weren't any scratches or dents they might have done, I calmed down a little (that was one of my biggest concerns)... So, originally I thought it was my one friend b/c he likes to be a jokester like that, but after talking to him and another one of his buddies I pretty much ruled him out since his story of drinking for the past few hours kind of checked out (he sounded pretty wasted lol). Now that I've ruled him out, I'm thinking either a) one of my coworkers(I'm pretty chill with everyone there, so I don't think it was meant to be mean) or b) since I park in the same spot everyday and my car stands out more than alot others I thought it might be a customer that goes there often recognized my car. If it's the second of the two, I'm actually kind of afraid they will try more sh** that might be worse and cause damage. The ironic thing is that I used to be more afraid of the area my other job is in than this one, but now... frown.gif

coincidence....?

Sorry for the rant, wanted to get that out. But my big question for you guys is, do you ever get dreams (nightmares) of something happening to your cars? I'm wondering if I might be alone in this or what.

1.) Get a really loud alarm system
2.) Buy yourself some full Insurance, yeah I know the celis old.
3.) As long as you don't start seeing dead people in your dreams like me. Your fine.
It was a friend dude... Saran wrap takes time, and planning... I did that to a friend on his birthday, i wrote obscene words on his door windows then wrapped his car with the saran wrap so you could see the words but not get rid of them untill he unwrapped his whole car:)

If they wanted to mess up your car the would have, cut your rag top, smashed your head lights, scratched the paint off and so on...

What is a saran wrap?

I think you are to obsessed with your car, by the way. Getting a loud alarm will help a little, but it will feed the obsession even further I think.

It's doesn't take much planning, I can assure you that. Go to the store and buy the saran wrap, then go to the car. (and the grocery store is right next to where I work kindasad.gif.

Once it's light enouph out today I'm going to go out for a better inspection of the car (was doark out when I got out last night).

I think I'm with Akirad, need to stop watching soo many movies and tv lol

I think you're having the dreams because your personal identity is too wrapped up in your car, and you're feeling some sort of insecurity or having self esteem issues; either way, you feel personally threatened and it's manifesting itself in your dreams by being the car that's threatened. Some part of you identifies yourself by your car and there's a clear sense of fear that if something happened to your car, it would be damaging to you as a person.

So with that psychoanalysis, I suggest the following: 1, I don't remember how old you are but if you're old enough to not be raped by insurance companies, increase your insurance to comprehensive. 2, take a break from your car. Dig deep and do some soul searching. We all love our cars on here, it's what brings us together on the site. But the reality is that there's bigger fish to fry, and it's just a material object. I'd be devastated if something really bad happened to my car. But still - it's no more or less a car than yours or anyone else's on here, because it's still just metal and plastic. I know you're a really smart guy, and it sounds like maybe you've temporarily lost site of your spiritual priorities. I don't necessarily mean like God and all that stuff. I mean just internally; the things that really matter in this world. Being healthy, being gainfully employed and not out of a job like SO many others right now, being loved, being able to love, being able to breathe, see, feel... whatever. Now especially is a great time to reflect on that stuff, in the midst and flurry of this mass consumerist season.

And if you see dead people in your sleep, it's no big deal. It's when you see them when you're NOT sleeping that it gets a little freaky. tongue.gif
Damn Michelle that's pretty good actually.lol And I do agree many people (including myself) take too many things for granted. I think I'll stick with the insurance I have for now since it's still kind of high and theres still one accident left until the end of this year. But material things can just be another form of evil imo. I'm always one to say that our country is way to obsessed with our material possesions, yet I guess I kind of do the same kindasad.gif. I think I'll start to walk to the job close to my house and such, maybe that'll help me pull away from the car a little (still not going to leave her totally though).

No need to leave the car totally at all! Just separate yourself from it so your identity isn't so wrapped up in it is all I'm sayin'. tongue.gif
Don't rule out the drunks. A friend of mine got waisted and walked to my house and tp'ed my car, and then told me he didn't. I only found out after asking a few of our friends who said he did it. Several others backed him up on it, so ask more friends if possible.

And payback is a bitch. I took a roll of industrial shrink wrap from work and wrapped his car top to bottom.
