alrighty... i got 18 inch wheels and some low profile tires on her but what i am asking is when i "try to race" ill dump the clutch and my car will revv up but it takes time to go anywhere not a lot but still you can deffinatly feel it. like the engine has to push a lot harder to ge the car going and i loose almost every race now anyways... i dont even bother racing anymore >> cry cry thats how bad it is... i got perelli p7000 supersport tires on the rims all i am asking is if it is bad for my clutch or tranny???

its probably becuase you have 90 hp at wheels.

just be careful with them 18s, 18s on an st tend to get a hell of a lot of flats...

18's on ANYTHING tend to get flats. Your tires are going to be real low profile, meaning less air is getting hotter. And smaller things can puncture them. Check the airpressure constantly. I dont kno what kinda rims you got, but my Focals were a helluva lot heavier than my stocks and you could definately feel the difference.

But on low profile tires, you have less tire, even tho its a lil bigger.
Its called inertia...theres more to spin so it takes more power.

The problem here is unspring weight.

The rotational mass to turn an 18 is more than a 14 due to weight and radius of the rim.

If the 18 is the same weight as a 14, then the performance maybe be the same.

It is like lowering the car. You see how much different it makes in handling the speed.

Checkout some physics! You will see why.

So to come back that, and increase of hp or tq, especially tq to solve that problem.

Thats why when you are moving (if you notice,) it kind of hard to stopped!

rims just weigh more then air... which is what your reducing with bigger rims... you may be burning your clutch if the engine revs and you dont go anywhere... get a stronger clutch, or better yet, dont race in an ST.

alright thanks guys what i am working on doing (in the plans) is swap a 3sgte im thinking the 18's will make it so i dont have to worry about the burn outs as much so i can get a better launch in theory anyway i pretty much know everything i will need and i am now in the saving money faze
