steering wheel spacer - 6G Celicas Forums

Does anyone know if it is possible to use a steering wheel spacer with the stock wheel. I want to move the wheel out by about an inch so that it is more comfortable for me when I'm driving

Is there even such a thing? If there were I don't even think a spacer is safe. For example, if you get into an accident and the steering wheel is moved out further you have a huge chance to get hurt. Decapitation FTL.

I don't know if this is correct so correct me if I'm wrong, but there are such things as steering wheel hubs for after market racing steering wheels. I don't really know how much it moves the steering wheel back towards you, but then again that isn't safe.

they do exist. I am over 6 foot so there are no worries about me being too close to the wheel. I have my seat set 2 clicks forward from the back so that i have comfortable leg position i can reach the wheel from there but its not comfortable if i move closer for my arms then my legs feel cramped. I may just have to compromise. the main thing with a steering wheel spacer is would the cables for the airbag and any other switch be long enough to even use a spacer
I've seen something like that one before could have been the same one I looked at a few sites. My main concern is if the wiring is long enough to use a 1 inch spacer or not without having to cut and splice. I may not even do it but its always nice to know what options exist.
