please vote! we shamefully broke a record here in Canada last month for the lowest voter turn out in history. make a difference. make a choice. don't know if the polls are still open on the East Coast but if you still have time and were wondering should i or shouldn't i...just do it.

Voting [for presidential candidates] in CA is pointless. It will forever be a Democratic state.
Voting for propositions and such makes more sense.

I can give you a couple: for the first time since I have been old enough to pay attention to the elections (Past 3? elections), I saw people across this country participate in the election process with enthusiasm and excitement. The youth of this country participated in record numbers, hell, the entire population of this country participated in record numbers. That alone is bigger than which candidate won. It is also important that he won decisively, his victory will not go to court, it will not drag on for days, for the first time in 8 years, the president truly has the mandate of the people. It looked like there was 1 million people in Grant Park, it was an amazing sight compared to McCain's "Invitation Only" party. In Detroit, people flooded the streets in peaceful celebration. If ANYTHING, Obama has brought hope to this country. He may not be the most qualified person to lead this country, but that is why you surround yourself with the right people.

presidential election != Local elections.
and those reasons are...disappointing.
You could have an animal lead the country with the right people surrounding them using that philosophy, and the whole "part of history" coming from those 30 and under is frustrating when life expectancy doesn't rule them out for waiting for a BETTER candidate to be the first.
I may read this again, may not...i dont want to post again, but if i get emotional enough i'll prob have to.
