Ok so I'm wishing to change my oil and filter but can't seem to locate the oil filter...am I blind? Where is it located on a RHD 3S-GE?

Yea its under one of the bottom covers by the drain plug under the car.
You have to take it off to get to the filter. Its a b****h I know.as you are lying under the car i believe its on the left.

I've never seen mine either, I only remember on the old 3S-FE I had it was sticking out like a sore thumb (orange fram tends to do that) next to the exhaust headers on the left.

um im taking a guess around 4L? use your dip stick and your old oil as a rough guide. also what oil are you using?

Shall be using Mobil 1 10W-30, cos that's what Toyota use/recommend for zee 3sge and although it's pricy, don't really want to change the type of oil after 212k's!
Aha! Haines says that it's 3.9L for the 2nd gen 3sge, so I assume third gen won't be much different.

yeah about 4 litres.
where us cool gen3 and above have the filter is sooo much better then next to the manifolds.
what a prick of a spot, cant get good leverage on it if some stooge did it up to tight, cant do it if the engine is hot (should be at least warm when u do oil changes)
the only downside of ours is you get a little bit of oil on your hands, and you need to get on the ground, but you need to for undoing the drain plug anyway. But if you man up its not an issue

yeah but at least (if your hard enough to get oil on your hands) you wont get any oil dripping on the undertray. oil and dirty looks good at the bottom of your engine bay

got my trd filter arriving shortly, and after finding the filter should be an easy job
just a quick jack of the car remove the undertry and bingo
