Topic #63179 9 posts Started by cjh4l22
ok so i like both these sets of coilovers and need a setup for the right price so its pertinent i find this info first.

do both of these have adjustable cambering through the pillow ball mounts??!
what is the comparison in spring rates or adjustability?

thanks for any help or suggestions you might have. thanks

Both are junk. Buy Megan Racing coilovers, they're $900 shipped from hopupracing.com.

Send them an email as they don't have the 6th gen on their website.

so far the only problem I've read with D2 is the aluminum lower mounts, the aluminum is a soft metal and with the stress of the suspension the holes can expand and loose all the bolts / nuts.

why haven't you look at BC coilovers ? they are mainly for sale on Australia, but you can buy them on ebay and have them shipped to your door for a total price below the cost without shipping of the K sports.

research about the BC's I'm still reading about them but so far noone has complain about any real issue.

D2 are better than megan racing coilovers.

i trust D2 and Ksport over Megan racing.
if you hadnt read it in the other posts yet ksports and d2's are the same, just different colors
and they are both pretty stiff coilovers

honestly i wont get them because everyone has them plus they dont offer upper pillow mounts but Tein's are rated as being the best coilovers made. they are a softer coilover

Tein (w/o pb mounts)
Tanabe (w/o pb mounts)
Ksport
D2

In a recent test done, Megans scored fine, while D2's and Ksports both failed because one was as stiff on full as one was soft all the way down. They can be very off as far as stiffness goes and Megans haven't failed anything like that yet.
in the end. it comes down to what he is going to use these for. if he is going to track it, go with tein. dd'ing and less stressful wear on the coilovers go with the megan d2 and ksports.

imo you get what you pay for in the end. thats why more and more i am considering tein over the others

yea i am looking for a very street-able car. so now i'm thinking megan? does the megan setup include adjustable pillowball mounts?

im very happy with my ksports... perfect for daily driving and still very stiff... its nice to be able to adjust stiffness too
