IM programs - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #62014 8 posts Started by goferris
Hi all! I'm constantly using an instant messenger program either at home or at work. I currently use trillian but it always has a problem logging in (and staying logged in to) my MSN account. I need to find a new FREE program that I can use. I have vista on my computer if that makes any difference to what I can use.
I need this program to be able to log in to AIM, MSN, and YAHOO. If anyone has any recommendations I would appreciate your help.
Thanks in advance.

I have a Mac and use Adium which allows me to log into basically any IM program... So look that up if you can, if not there's a site called Meebo that I think you'd like. Meebo.com, just check it out.
I use digsby. Its free and lets you connect to msn, yahoo, aim, google talk, etc. AND it can also check your myspace and facebook and let you know when theres a new comment/friend request etc, and it lets you put any email account there too.

I used pidgin. I used to use trillian. Both are pretty good for what you want to get done. However I recommend pidgin. Its pretty good at doing all IMs plus it has a lot of plug-ins for it. I don't know how well those will work for windows though. kindasad.gif

Well the consensus was to get pidgin so I downloaded it. Is there someway to make it one of my default programs so it will start at the startup of windows? I looked through all the preferences but couldn't find what I was looking for.
Thanks for your help guys. You always pull through. thumbsup.gif

Put a short cut into the Startup which can be found in the Start menu.
