Cutrara's Interior - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #61916 80 posts Started by Cutrara
Haven't really been posting much the last year or two, so I thought I'd post a couple of pics to show what I've done recently.

Black Aftermarket Leather with blue top stitching (installed by me) and seat heaters (which are installed under the leather but are not wired yet... I need a drill to put in the switches and I haven't been to my parents house in a few weeks.) I used a heat gun to stretch out most of the wrinkles.

7th Gen Short shifter and TRD Knob (also got a black leather boot with blue stitching)

Theres also a USB port in the shifter surround for plugging in flash drives full of music, ipods, portable HDs, etc.

Black Leather Armrest cover with black stitching

Black Reverse Glow gauges with real CF Bezel

CarPC

I painted the rear-view mirror and map light plastic black. I'm going to be redoing the headliner in black as well. I'm working to update and black out the whole interior. Brand new OEM floormats are on the way. I'm going to get the windows tinted and get an amp and some subs... I'm thinking either a single 10" or 2 10"s because I need room in my trunk.

Your interior looks really nice all done like that. I painted my rearview mirror and sunroof controls too. Used that plastic paint from walmart - works great Fusions I think it was called?

The seat covers weren't that bad, although make sure you have money set aside after you buy the covers. Mine needed an extra couple stretchers and to get the plastic pieces transfered over to the leather covers. I took it to a local auto upholstery shop and got hit up for another $70. I got them on eBay from "leather-seat". I don't have the address. My map lights are scratched because I didn't use clear coat, but I used fusion too, it works pretty good.

The thing in place of the lighter is a griffin powermate. It's a programmable USB wheel that I use to scroll through music, etc. It is broken ATM.

Brand New OEM Floormats:

Over winter break I plan on installing automotive carpet padding under my stock carpet to absorb road noise (it's bad) or even under new carpeting. I also want to dynamat the trunk (for subs) and the doors (so they don't rattle and so they will close with a nice THUD).

Got these in the mail today, A pair of Alpine Type S components with crossovers and tweeters. Can't wait to install them, I currently have Pioneer 3-ways up front and STOCKERS in the rear. The new Alpines are going up front and the Pioneers are going in the back but I eventually want to replace them with Alpines.

What do you mean bottom out easy? Like they dont have enough travel when they hit? Thought they were some decent speakers...

Car PC is all custom built, Mini-ATX motherboard, M1-ATX PSU, 512MB RAM (just replaced yesterday... was getting blue screens on resume from hibernate!), 120GB laptop hard drive all in the "Ampie" style case. Before the end of the year I'm going all carpc, no headunit. I'm gonna get rid of the motorized touchscreen (it sucks, some gears are broken so it needs help up and down, and it makes some awful grinding noises) and the crappy "Farenheit" Headunit (seriously, wtf... i've never even heard of that brand before I bought it, and they didn't even spell fahrenheit right. Plus, it's pretty ****ty as far as SQ goes) and replace it with a 7" touchscreen molded in. Buying a 4-channel Alpine Amp here pretty soon for the speakers.

Installed the Speakers and tweeters today... just reused my speaker adapters from my previous aftermarket spearkers... no pics of that (thats basic stuff) here's some pics of what I decided to do with the tweeter:

great looking interior, i like your tweeter placement.
and the leather looks amazing
I ordered an amp (decided not to go with Alpine) and wiring kit. Should be here Friday, I'll put it in along with the rear speakers. Gotta run out and buy speaker wire, terminals, etc. I think I'm also going to run some 4AWG under the hood (battery-chassis ground, alt-chassis ground, etc) for better grounds.

Well, I've been doing a little work on the Celica the past few days. I upgraded "The big three" with 4GA wire under the hood and wired the amp on sunday, and mounted and drilled all my holes for my wiring and installed the seat heater switches today. The seat heaters are STILL not wired (who cares though, it's was pretty warm today) but the switches are in.

Here you can see the 4GA wire from the alternator go around the radiator...

...to the battery, and the battery ground to chassis. The alternator bracket/chassis wire is not pictured.

Here are some pics of the amp install:

I also set the gains on the amp using a 1000hz tone to listen for clipping. It's REALLY loud when you do this, and all of my neighbors were probably like "wtf is this kid doing"

I had my roommates drill so I drilled the holes for the seat heater switches:

switches look good Alex thumbsup.gif

Finally wired the seat heaters yesterday, I drove around with the A/C on and the seat heaters on haha, they feel great. Also picked up a ground loop isolator today, my front speakers had a little bit of alternator whine. It fixed it right up, but one of these days I really need to rewire the whole car and ground things to the same place.

The amp install looks good, looks a lot how I did mine. Did you buy a new battery clamp to add on for the big3 upgrade? I couldnt do switches there, I actually use my cupholders haha
The install looks good, but clean that interior up a bit. biggrin.gif
Finally replaced my crappy carpc screen and stereo with a lilliput screen. I followed tomazws' how-to here.

a few pics:

I also re-did my headliner and sprayed my visors with fabric dye. The flash makes it look lighter than it is, but it looks pretty good IRL.

interior god.

tell me about the headliner, ive done one before but it was such a pita to make it look decent, how did you go about it and does it look as oem as in the pics?
I'm assuming you had to take the headliner off to spray it?
