okay i have a set of eibach sportlines....just wondering if there is a proper or improper way to cut them??...will it throw off some kind of balance on them or they wont ride properly anymore....well hope u guys can help...THANKS!!!
I would not use cut spring. You may weaken the spring, plus the spring rate is not constant through out the whole spring. the top and bottom of the spring is stiffer then the middle. The ride will be really ****ty.
Yeah don't cut your springs, if you dont mind the same crap ride quality with a little more stability just get coilovers.

i am awesome
If you are planning to cut, just cut on coil lenght off.

If you're going to cut them DO NOT use a torch. Do it with a cutoff wheel. The torch will get the spring too hot and change the rate.

I'm curious as to whether or not this would work well with Eibach Sportline springs as well. I want my front springs to lower the car by another half or 3/4 inch so that the gap in the front isn't larger than the gap in the back.

I'd recommend NOT cutting the springs... I did this on my H&R's and Eibachs... because I wasn't happy with the drop... and let me just say that cutting half a coil WILL cause clanking... you may not have problems cutting the rear... but cutting the fronts will cause problems...

The first time I cut my springs (H&R's), I cut from the bottom... which wasn't too bad... but then I bought a whole set of Eibachs... and cut from the top... and it was worse... just pulling out of the driveway... you could hear CLINK * CLANK * CLINK * CLANK...

So I ended up going to a shop and had them make me custom springs with a custom drop ... mind you... this was before there wasn't anything lower than 1.25"

But if you want to be daring ... go for it... I'm just telling you know that Celica springs are designed differently...
