Horrible squeel - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #6147 3 posts Started by Eddo456
I have heard that when you get a toyota's brakes changed they squeel if you dont' get it done at the dealership. Is this true, and if so what can i do to get rid of it because it is driving me insane. Thanks for the help
When you change your brakes, you have to clean the rust off the clips, it may require sanding. Just do it by hand. Then put anti-seize on the back of the pads and in the groove on the caliper where the pad slides in and out. Its hard to explain, but easy to show.
learned this from a Mercedes Benz dealer.

Put a strip of duct tape on the back of the brake pads b4 applying the anti-sieze. Apply the anti to the duct tape itself. Works like a charm.
