ok wen i bought my car the woman told me the alarm had been "turned off". the remote/keyfob doesnt work as even with a new battery the light doesnt turn on. but i was playing around in my car today and the valet switch thing inside the car lights up as it wen the alarm is working properly. shud this happen if the alarm has been disabled or not?

also nothing happened when I opend the hood or trunk, alarm is supposed to sound from reading the manual in valet mode.

any help wud be appreciated
