How about this... removing the rear seats all together, and making a shelf level to the rear trunk in the hatch, then carpeting the whole thing... has anybody done that... that would be awesome...

hmm i'm kinda liking this idea, i have no back seats, but idk if i wanna put the time into this..
I have my seats folded down at the moment, armor alled the interior so I put em down for easy access in doing that. But then its just a big flat trunk if you leave them down, that could be a good thing, if you know what I'm talking about

I used to have a 1982 datsun 280zx turbo that had no rear seats but instead it was one flat rear with 2 storage containers directly behind the seats... you could build something that would be flush from the rear to just behind the furthest back seat position in the car... the just carpet the whole thing... or put storage bins in. or put subs in that point to the back of the seat.. or something crazy... it might reduce some weight too right?.... plus having that all be flat you could fit more into your car...
i have a set up like this no rear seats a plywood cut to fit at front seats.... makes it into a 2 seater with space for 2 15 inch subs... so theres basicaly a wall behinbd my front seats
