I am thinking about getting a newer 04-05 srt-4, was just wondering any thoughts or input any of u guys have on them, maybe some owners?

friend got one cuz he needed an updated turbo 4door car. didnt want an evo or sti. he left his gen.2 all trac and bought one. he said that its easy and cheap to make them fast. IMO its alright
I don't normally drive fast, but when I do its on a curvy section of this island
well ya, see i can pick this one up for 10k with 19k on it, 05 so it shoudl be a good reliable car, plus winter should be to bad, i just plan on a stage 1 or so
yeah cheapest fastest car you can get w/o going mustang or camaro V8
ya i guess, i aint going to much for the speed, but i still need it there, but more of a newer car
easy and cheap to upgrade. too bad you still have to roll down the windows in the back. power windows only in front

seriously, its an absolute given. there should be a proof made to show that SRT-4 owners are douchebags. everytime i'm at a restaurant, at a starbucks, driving the streets, etc, i always here the same exhaust tone and revving the engine while in first and being 'cool.' i initially thought that they were okay. the neon made me uneasy about liking it, but it seemed like the best bang for a couple bucks. but seeing these idiots driving around thinking they are the hot sh!t, i have made my choice in thinking they suck.

What Playr said, people hate it because it's the fastest and cheapest in it's class. It's nothing but jealousy.
I dunno about you guys, I love my Celica, but if someone offered me an SRT-4, I'd take it. The Celicas (at least the US models), are NOT a performance vehicle.

comparing celica's to mid 00's cars, yeah it doesn't fit the profile of a sports car. But compare it to cars in the mid 90's when it came out, I'd say it's a sports car.
In my area the D-bag drivers all drive the new SI's. I've had 2 in the last 3 weeks try to race me and then VTAK away when I don't.
Back on topic, if ur looking for a reliable car, you dont' want an SRT-4. If you want a sedan thats cheap and fast, then an SRT-4 fits the profile.

You can only polish a turd so much... no matter how much or how hard u polish, its still a turd.
edit: on a more serious note, I believe dodge did hit the nail on the head for there target group, ie inexpensive, above average performance, with modest looks. My issue with it that its still a dodge, and when was the last time u saw a dodge click over...115k miles without something breaking that cost you < $3k to repair? i dont think i have.

Can we add Mazda3 and 6 (Speed) to list of D-bag drivers too? Every time I pull up next to one at a light, they rev to get my attention (which I don't respond to) and then floor it to "win" their 1 person race.

first off...the srt-4s arent they best looking cars in the world but IMO they are very sexy and i do like them....secondly the power they put to the ground is very respectable for the amount of $$ you are going to be putting into it....if it was me and i could get a srt4 with low miles for 10 grand i say go for it...they are very nice cars, lots of potential..and they haul a$$ hands down
