I just ordered a set of JDM gauges that came out of an ST202 in Japan. They plug up fine and i get a red light for the door, however, when i crank the car up only the Fuel and Temperature gauge move. can anyone help me here?

You need to re-wire it, or swap the gauges over.

the st202 guages are wired different than the st204/at200.
1 why an st202 guage ?
2 it's not plug an play, what's the advantage with doing a good amount of rewiring to have their guage ?

1. i didnt know that it would be that much of a difference, cause they plue right up.
2. i liked the way it looked and its different from anyone else near me that has a 6th gen. but again i didnt know there'd be such an issue with wiring.
can you help me or not?

are these the white gauges from a beams? if so the signal is different between the 2 motors is what i've read. you might be able to use the faces off the new gauges for the gas/temp portion and maybe from the tach as well (not sure how different it is) but the speedo will be very different i believe.
your best (and cheapest) bet would be to get some glo gauges from either speedhut (more custom) or procarparts (cheaper)

Call me a traitor! See if I care. ;)
Cuz JDM gauge is HOTNESS

Yup, it's not plug and play, I pull the needles out, ripped the face off (they're attached by double sided tape), and swapped'em over to my USDM one.
But before you start ripping stuff out, you'll need to do some measuring for the RPM needle.
Drive around at 5MPH, 60MPH, and umm... 80MPH and write down the RPM reading on each speed. After you swapped over the face plate, you need to drive at exact 5MPH while trying to snap the RPM needle back in pointing at the exact rev that you wrote down earlier. (Don't sue me if you crash)
Afterward, go drive around at different speeds and double check your RPM reading is same as whatever you wrote down.
For gas and temp, just put'em back where they were pointing to.
For odometer, start your car and aim your needle to zero.
That's what you do, if you do it the ghetto way.

I don't normally drive fast, but when I do its on a curvy section of this island

thank you and of course I can help
FIRST, please please please DO NOT do what tomazws did, no offence Tom, but there's a waaaaay easier way to do it and 99% of everyone who takes a needle off has major problems putting them back on.
you could always re-wire your entire your entire interior cluster plugs like this post here but you have a 97 and the wiring diagrams *may* be a bit different.
have your cluster out of the car and the 202 cluster side by side flip them over and look at the back. The tach, speedo, and the fuel/temp sections can be swapped and they will work with your cluster. The tach is held on by 3 screws, speedo by 4, and the fuel/temp by 6.
swap the sections, here's a pic of what I mean.

just make sure that the fuel level needle matches your stock cluster.
I can't guarantee that the speedo and rpms will be accurate but obviously looking different is more important than actually knowing your correct speed to you I guess.
good luck

Lol "Unleaded fuel only" ... Just so.. you know? You don't forget? There's a reason why they put that in the US Celicas, Japs knew the yanks would try anything

God made man....Everything else...Made in China
hmm...i'm tempted to get a cheap US spec cluster to try this and to see if it will work on my BEAMs as I am trying my hardest to get her ready to possibly be imported...

I rewired my st204 to use the st205 cluster since i already had a 3rd gen 3sgte
the jdm, aus, euro, and usdm clusters wire differently...
this is what you do...
Take out both clusters
grab a piece of paper
Write down the pin outs for all three plugs on the usdm cluster (easy way is to trace back via the circuit board)
then
Write down the pin outs for all three plugs on the jdm cluster
then
rearrange the pins on the usdm harness in the car so it will properly interface with the jdm cluster.
This can be a lil tedious and time consuming but its the only sure way with out a EWD... I ended up having to do this because i found that all of the pin outs for the jdm aus and euro st205 cluster were a little off here and there so i wanted to be sure.
Use a LED flashlight to illuminated the separate indicators where the light bulbs go in and look on the other side to more clearly see what they say/illuminated.
Lastly i also switched out the kph speedo for the usdm mph one. Making a custom st205 cluster.... this allowed me to not only have the right tach andcute boost gauge on the side but also have the correct US mph speedo weeee
