Ever since I got my 01 GTS I'm hardly on here any more. But I decided to check out the meets and see if anyone is planning a NorCal meet. But guess nobody is planning one out I did one around this time last year, and 6strngs did before that so I hope someone is going to step up to the plate and plan something out

Hey guys, I've been MIA for the past month pretty much. But I guess I can post this once . I'm not on the forum much anymore. A meet in Fresno sounds like a good idea, BUT it's just not going to happen. If people were willing to drive that far for a Celica meet, then we would see more meets. We have problems getting people to drive for 1 hour away. Not to mention that we barely have any members from Fresno, and it would make more sense to have those few members drive up North, rather than have the larger group drive down to meet with 1 or 2 people only. Personally, I think the only West Coast Celica meet that deserves a NorCal caravan for a long ass time would be the SoCal Chino Hills meet.

I'm still getting situated with everything, and I haven't been able to organize any meets yet, as I barely know the way around.....anywhere. So just update AZN87 and he will update me on everything regarding the meet. I will most likely roll in with him as I've already met him, and I know CAMAricer lives right by me, so we have a mini carvan already . I'm not sure who else lives around the area, but I'll see what we can do. Takes about 1 month to organize a good meet, but I'm going to need some ideas of what you guys would like to do? I would atleast like to meet a few of you NorCal members while I'm up here.

I'll definitely be down for a meet. Ask some of those who know me, they'd tell you that I'd drive hundreds of miles just to show up for 30 minutes at a Celica meet

But my poor baby's pretty much beat up...ding/dented all around

BTW, anyone know of any good batting cages in the Peninsula area? I need to take out my frustrations from work this week.

The bay area has some very nice places for photo ops and meets (Treasure Island was neat...). Sonoma has the racepark and drag nights on Wednesdays. Marin's got the park. Also there's plenty of places to just cruise (along the 1, north or south bay). A BBQ would be nice too, it being summer and all and how I missed the SoCal one . Let set a date for August (9th or 16th). And get a sign up list up too. So I guess I'll just set up the framework for this meet and you guys can add on to it. In the meantime, I'm going to scout out places suitable for this meet tomorrow...

Can't drive until the 28th? Well that just plain suck. We'll have to plan something later this year then for you if you can't make it to an early one...

On a separate but related note...

I went out driving (for fun and to look for meet spots) today and spent about a good 3 hours in the Marin Headlands and the Golden Gate National Recreation area. And DAMN was that fun!!! Too bad it was in broad daylight and there were a couple of cars on the road that couldn't go nearly as fast as the posted speed limit (35MPH on a mountain road isn't that fast, now is it?) but once they got out of my way, I was tearing it up through the corners as fast (and safely) as I could. Surprisingly, I found it hard just to keep my speed at 35 the entire way (wonder what kind of car those road engineers were driving?).

I made it to Stinson beach before deciding to head back. There was nice parking lot next to the beach (maybe a neat place for a meet?). Then I made my way up and down the roads (Panoramic highway) until I looped back to the 1 before joining back to the 101 and back towards the Golden Gate bridge. Now I must say that the ride wasn't the least bit comfortable...I was slipping and sliding in my seat, arms tense on the wheel, foot constantly on the brakes, eyes darting out in front of me, it was intense. But hell it sure was fun.

I was wondering if there is anyone who like to join me on my "cruises" throughout the twisty and winding roads of North Bay? I might do this bi-weekly/monthly as time/money permits. I'd also like to have a go at night too (just to see how it's like). So besides these larger annual/semi-annual meets, perhaps some of you want to just drive together for fun?
