well, to make things simple, my reverse lights work when they want to. At first I thought they were completely dead (the bulbs), but then I noticed they will randomly turn on (when im backing up). I noticed there is a bit of corrosion inside the mounting part of the bulb (where the bulb meets the wires), cleaned that up, but still have the same problem. Also, my rear passanger side speaker ALWAYS blows out for no reason at all. Could these problems be related? and where can I even start to diagnose the problem?
Thanks for any help!

You know, I have the same problem with my 95 convertible and my daughter had that problem with her 94 GT (before she wrecked it 2 weeks ago). Does anyone know what the problem is?
check the reverse light switch on the top of the tranny.
my st205 swapandour Beams swap
Thats what it is ^ on the tranny its easily accessable. If you wiggle it they will turn on and off. Mine does the same thing.
Alternately, it could be the actual sockets. I had to replace one of mine (brake light rather than back-up light, same idea however). When you install your bulbs, are you using dielectric grease to seal the connection? Cuts down on the corrosion issues.
Then again, with a tendency to blow a bulb, you might just have loose wires with a recurring short circuit.
anybody have a picture of what it looks like? I've got no clue what im looking for :-)

My daughter's '95 GT Convertible has the intermitent backup lights problem. Seems to work after being warmed up during the day. All info points to the Park/Neutral switch (she has an automatic) located at the transmission. BUT, I didn't want to chance replacing that if it is okay. Any one else have this problem with an automatic?
mine is an automatic.

Mine does the same thing...and its auto also...
yep i have the same problem... sometimes when i wiggle the autoshifter they turn on... its weird
does anybody know where the switch itself is? Once we figure that out, we can diagnose the problem better.

My reverse lights stopped working, and it's a manual. Sockets dont look rusted, and new bulbs dont work
