T-Top? - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #59698 4 posts Started by Legit94GT
So i am planning on doing a 3's swap, i was going to do it as my daily driver, but i have decided to but another celi and have that as my toy and weekend car:)

Since i wont be driving it around all the time i can do some major projects on it with out having to bum rides and such, this has gotten me thinking... If i bought another celi it'd be a 94-95 gt, and it would probablly have a sunroof... Well i was thinking that it would be way cooler to have a T-Top for the celi smile.gif And i could just cut the sunroof out and buy a T-Top from another car, or use junk yard and saws-all the roof off... I dont know why i like this idea so much i just do wink.gif

With all that said, has anyone ever tried to put a T-Top into a celi? I cant help but think it would look really really cool

A specialist company such as ASC might undertake the work but you are probably looking at $5000-$10000 minimum. In thery a T-bar conversion could be a little cheaper as it would be easier to keep the structural integrity. Another possibility would be to start with a celica convertible and a donar celica coupe as the convertible would already have had much of the structural enforcement work done. But you are probably still looking at a specialist company and $5000 minimum.

You would probably be better off getting an SC430 tin-top convertible and doing a Celica headlights conversion. Insurance would probably be cheaper and resale value higher too.
