Wrecked Battery connector - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #58991 6 posts Started by Racer_J
Hi all,

A friend of mine has just wrecked one of my battery connectors trying to fit a battery that was TOO BIG! He's forced the connector of the positive lead over the terminal of the battery and snapped it!

I don't suppose these can be easily replaced can they?

Snapped the battery post or the post connector on the battery cable?

The connector is dime a dozen and should take up-to and including 2 min to replace.

If it was the battery post itself, then you'll be needing a new battery sir.

Good luck and have fun.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply!

Yep, it's the connector on the cable that's shagged..

I need to get my arse in to gear and get it sorted out! Thing is, I'm in work all week so won't have the chance!

Unless it's one with dual setups to accommodate side post connectors in which case it's an hour fix tops to relocate and put a new connector on the harness. wink.gif

Dude you seriously could go, buy the part and change it out in your lunch hour. If you can change a tire this is not much of a stretch from there. wink.gif

I know, I know....

I don't work anywhere near any spares places!! I'll have to wait till I get in from work. (I feel an early finish coming on)

Honnestly, you can cheap out and spend like $3.00-$5.00 and it'll take 5 min and a wrench for a cheapo one. Litterly you'll cut the old one off, strip a peice of the cable in question, then slap it into the new conector and spin your wrench a few times. Then slap it onto the batt and spin that wrench a few more times. Done. It'd take all of 5 min. You
