Always been a little curious as to what this would sound like? I did a search and couldnt find anything since most people just upgrade. Anyone done this or heard of this?
Thanks in advance.
sounds better the other way around btw.

idk... most of the time people have the performance muffler on. i imagine it would be a bit louder. much louder if you have no cat, no resonator and an aftermarket muffler. (but not real hi pitched and buzzy like hondas)

Removing the resonator with the stock exhaust system will make your car sound terrible... Don't do it! Believe me. (i could describe the sound like the one you get from a 2-stroke bike)
Mind if I borrow this thread a second?
I just want to know if I put an after market exhaust on, would I need a resonator? There is this guy who has a 1990 Celica and has and ebay exhaust/muffler with an 18" resonator and it sounds really good. Was wondering if I need to worry about the resonator or should I be cool with the just exhaust. And or differences from having one or not would be helpful information as well. If no answer, then I might just start up a thread.

since u live i california, i would be weary about taking that resonator off (emission standards i think?) but it sounds a bit more aggressive with no cat and resonator with an aftermarket muffler
