How do you clean your "cleanable" intake cone? - 6G Celicas Forums

Just wondering.

I washed it in my tub with my shower-head and I'm not sure if that's the correct way to clean it.

wash it, let it dry, oil it.

BANNED. for life, you moron.
If it's rechargable/reusable you should rinse it from the INSIDE OUT, to push dirt and debris away from inside out. Then let it sit in the sun for 15-30 minutes. Next take your filter oil and spray it down. Shake out the excess and let it sit for 10 minutes or so. Then reinstall.

But they specifically tell you not to do that or use a hairdryer. The air hose will make the gaps wider causing the oil to be less effective and the hairdryer will shrink the fibers.
K&N has the exact procedure on their website. the only PITA is waiting for the cone to dry.
