air conditioned seats - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #58488 19 posts Started by monkey
Ok so I have a brilliant idea... well maybe not brilliant but deffinately awesome!

The Toyota Avalon has an option on their Limited Package that not only is heated seats, but Air Conditioned also....

for those of us who are blessed with the ridiculously insaine ability to do crazy **** with wires and voltages and insaine stuf like that, would one who desired this be able to set this up... yes it does require perforated seats but that would be a seriously badass option...

excpecially for us houstonians!

the parts can be baught from a Toyota dealership easily...

my only concern is that the avalon has a bigger electrical generator thingy... would we need to swap dat too???

anyone who feels like putting their 2 cents in on this whether u know or not, go for it...
Yeah, ass coolers. That sounds great, if you figure this out lemme know cause its going to be getting real hot soon.
How do you go about cooling the seat especially if your seat is leather...do you ahve some kind of pipes running in coils inside your seat which are injected with Frion or something? Just my idea...
fans and foils i guess, or just fans...
never was able to look under the seats, got too much **** underthere.....
but deff fans and perforated leather.... if you wear gym shorts n boxers its kindov a scarry supprise when they turn em on.....

EDIT!!!
Their in the back of the seat too!!!! Forgot to mention that!

Interesting...honestly i've never heard of air cooled seats before. That's why I assumed it would be injected into pipes with Frion since that stuff loves to stay cool and is used in our A/C.
haha nice.....
ya this was a wierd thought considering i havent had my 6gc since december 15th.... RIP
but it just popped into my head all the sudden and i thought id share it with yall....
Already have it wink.gif..bought a seat cussion from my work last year that both heats and cools my butt lol. And for only $20, it does the job.

From your work? And where praytell is THAT? I want in on that sweet ass cooling action!!!
Guys guys guys...

this is an OLD mod...

you snare one of your vents and run (insulated) tubing under the car and upinto your seat; (yes there is drilling involved).

Before you attach said tube to seat you run rather rubber hoses(via wire coat-hanger) or some other type of distribution system in your seat. (we did rubber tubing with lots of holes poked in it)

Hook your distribution system into your larger hose that's snared off the ac.

The snared vent should be closed for optimum preformance.

When you fire up the ac, your ass cools off aswell.

Worked wonders with cloth seats.

I've seen people go as far as individual vents on their shoulders under the head rests.

As for upgrading the a/c, find a smaller wheel to fit onto the belt of the compressor and refill your R-12.

If that gives you engine trouble, then upgrade your alt.

confused.gif but but but confused.gif
this has wires and magnets and spinnythings with metal pins and screws that make a shiny thing called a motor and plastic thats been heated and injected into to to to uhhh uhhh mold thingies then shaped like sharp thingies that spin and make air go vroom aand and and theres lots of em tooooo!!!!
okay, so it's been "professionalized" by giving seats independent electronic a/c compressors, Plus r-12 feed lines. Big deal~ rolleyes.gif

Yes it'd be nice to have. No i refuse to spend several hundred/thousand dollars on it.

When i decide my ass is too hot, i'll do it old school. wink.gif

But DEFF a good find monkey! How much is one of those systems gunna run you?
