Forum Software Upgraded! - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #58285 79 posts Started by Coomer
The forum software has been upgraded and is now in a usable state, so it's back online. I'm still working on it, and may have it down later tonight for a little while, but for now, let me know what you think.

By the way, expect most of the old features (reputation system, etc.) to be coming back very soon.

I'm back to work. Enjoy! And let me know if you find problems. smile.gif

New Toyota project coming soon...
congrats

Congrats Coomer for a great forum thats always open on my desktop and thanks for everything you're doing for us. But as much as I love it I'd love it even more if it'd have a chat section. I'm just throwing this out there as an idea for future upgrades. Great upgrades BTW and keep up the great work. thumbsup.gif

firefox issue: drop down menus do not work while replying.

btw: hope all is well. gj
might not be a problem but an advancement I like

when posting pics says the pics have been reduced down to 600* by 800* with a little frame around it.
but that might be a good thing, no overly large pics taking a long time to load up the page

note: photobucket has tools to easily resize down to size without putting it out of preportion (which will remove the above frame)

Haven't even noticed...I'll have to take a look.

New Toyota project coming soon...
great work. i love the new look.

but something i would really really want integrated on the forums in a smarter search function. Maybe allow users to TAG certain post with key words like a blog.

thanks!
awesome!
software update likes just installed new brand stuff into the car smile.gif
Superb! At last we don't have to resize photos down to 800*600 bowdown.gif

I'll think about it, but I'd imagine that tagging wouldn't be nearly as accurate as a keyword search. Care to elaborate though? smile.gif

works only for IE, in Firefox are pics shown as posted...

and btw.: that reduction is to 640x480 not 800x600. So if anyone wants get around this feature just use 640x480 pics only...

I have been using Firefox version 2.0.0.14 and nothing drops down when I click on those drop downs (any of them). But using IE everything works fine...

LOL says I have 10,100 posts, from my calculations it's 9,725.

Drop down menus don't work for me in FF 2.0.0.14 either.

And "Forums" is listed twice on the homepage.

EDIT: i'm running Mozilla/5.0 @ Firefox/2.0.0.14

UPGRADE YOUR JAVA!!

I'm running FireFox right now and it all works. It's just because the forum is a java application. and the different browsers hae different settings. It's easiest to upgrade by taking firefox to this place and it should run smoothly.

If not then you'll have to open your firefox options and allow java to run at it's full capacity. wink.gif

Congratulations!
You have the recommended Java installed (Version 6 Update 5).

Seems as though I have the latest and it doesn't work for me.

Java is enabled.

Interesting. No Java is used whatsoever though, so don't worry about updating your Java. I'll investigate further.

New Toyota project coming soon...
After fewer than 5 minutes on the board this morning, I can already see the improvements. Very nice upgrade, Coomer! Thanks for keeping the site top-notch. You do some quality work, and I'm sure everyone on here really appreciates it. I know I sure do!

I'm running >>Firefox Beta 3.0b5>> on >>OSX 10.4.11>> and it >>>>appears>>>> that the dropdown menus work fine for me. In fact, I'm using this post to test them! woot.gif biggrin.gif

I noticed I can no longer highlight someone's post and copy it right into the fast reply. I have to now copy it, open up a set of quote brackets, and paste it.

Before, when you highlighted text, it automatically quoted it in the fast reply box? I remember using this feature but can't remember exactly how it worked.
