Topic #58070 5 posts Started by 94TRDcelica
Anyone got a how to on bleeding the power steering system?

i want to instal blue silicone hose and change the fluid as it looks like crap!

Thanks
Turn the wheel lock to lock several times with the engine running.

Don't use silicone hose though, petroleum swells and distorts silicone.
Thanks, but what about draining the old fluid? Is it simply unclip the hose at the pump and allow it to drain into a bucket? Then reconnect, fill and bleed?

In terms of the hose Ive seen loads of 6gc's with Samco hose for the power steering line running down from the resevoir! Isn't the original hose silicone?
Yep, just drain with a hose.
You might want to do this several times to clear all the old fluid out.

Dunno on the Samco, is it silicone?

Petroleum on silicone is a well documented topic, do a search for it online. smile.gif
Cool, thanks!

Well I think the Samco stuf is ok they produce hose lengths specifically for fuel and oil applications, especially high pressure ones Like here

Cheers again for clearing the details for the actual job though!
