i was wondering how i could remove the bar in front of the fuse box below the steering wheel. i want to put in a switch but its too deep runs into the metal. if i could remove that bar, it'd fit properly. also, is it necessary to have that metal bar there? thanks for the responses guys!

I'm having the same problem. I'm going to remove the lower dash panel in a few days and find out if that bar is removable. if not, I'm just going to cut a chunk out so it clears my switch.
oo good luck man lemme know how it goes.. for now, im debating hitting the junkyard for stock hole plastic pieces and i might just mount it onto the plastic piece... but yeah.. whats yours wired to?
Well it was actually a plate made of some composite/hard plastic material. 4 bolts hold it on and it has no apparent purpose so I removed it, and it gave me plenty of clearance. The switch is an oem style fog light switch, and I plan on tapping into a fuse from that fuse block for power.
I think it's there to keep you from sliding under the dash during an accident. the plastic piece alone isn't gonna stop you.

how did u remove it? are the four bolts hard to remove? did u have to remove the bottom of the dash? haha im dying to remove mine lol
remove the platic dash piece on the underside of the steering column, there's a couple screws that hold it in. then you remove the four 10 or 12 mm bolts (can't remember the size) and it comes off.
