Topic #57252 16 posts Started by marzouk
had my gt now for nearly 4 month and the only performance mod i got is a k n n induction kit. its a non turbo n i dnt fancy doin an engine swap. wot the next best fing to do to get more power outa ma 3sge beast??

please help
get some fast road cams. piper make some for the n/a 3s with a claimed increase of 20bhp. they cost about 450 pounds for intake and exhaust.
177 hp at the wheels is not bad at all, my automatic st has ~ 85 hp at the wheels lol
^ lol, but once you feel the same ol' power everyday, its not enough. Intake and exhaust will get you some gains but not as much. You'd have to do some internal works such as cams like phleon18 said.

you don't have to do a swap to turbo biggrin.gif
other than the basic exhaust system you pretty have to do some work on the internals. i wish the USDM GT had the 3sge instead of the 5sfe. you already have 40+ more HP than my car.
you can try to find a tranny from the beams celica to be able to transfer more HP to the road.

cams + exhaust w/ de-cat, headers, upgrade ur wires and spark plugs, and if you're up for it--go get ur head port/polished and then get urself an AFC NEO and tune ur a/f ratios and ur vvt-i.
Your car should run at about 200-210 by then and u'll most likely be hitting in the 15's in a straight.
its 177 @ flywheel mate smile.gif

like above, the usual mods should see slight improvements!

considering the year on his car i'm going to guess that he doesn't have vvti

There is a header in stock on the 3S-GE powered Celica.

320hp @ 6300rpm and 420Nm @ 3250rpm. yay!My ST205 WRC buildthread
yup true, could get a HKS extrators though a bit of gain in that?

Or the late model 5S camry header works too.

^^ I guess that the stock-piece is quite good better than a Camry piece, as this really is meant for racing..

HKS item could bring 5hp tops, but I ain´t paying that kind of money for such a small gain biggrin.gif

The final 5S camry header was very good actually - take a look at it, you'd be surprised.

ive got a 3sge engine and the biggest and best gain i got so far was fitting decat pipe and kn filter 57i but the 3sge engine is pretty well tuned from factory but i am curious to see if your gains improve and by how much much thumbsup.gif

for the work I'm doing

I recommend for low $
air filter (+ intake pipe for more beasty sound tongue.gif )
exhaust +/-extrator (2.25" - 2.5")
spark plugs (denso/NGK they're the same really)
