FS: JDM MR2 3sgte with LSD 5 speed tranny - 6G Celicas Forums

Topic #57112 23 posts Started by mycelicagt
i had bought this JDM 3sgte and the LSD 5 speed tranny same engine as the st205 and now that i am moving i need the money for the move, however the wire harness is cut and of course its a direct bolt up.

the engine does have all the sensors along with the AC pump and all the goodies.

MR2 3sgte with LSD 5 speed tranny- $2300 O.B.O.
with exhaust manifold and downpipe- $2500 O.B.O.
prices are without shipping!

Damn that's a freakin' steal of a price. So this will fit same directly right into our celi engine bays right? Not sure if mr2 3s-gte differs from gt4 celi 3s-gte.
everything is bolt up to our engine bays, and it also comes with the ecu of course
Damn, I would soo love to pick this up too bad I don't have the money.
Would you kindly like to do it on an installment plan? biggrin.gif ahah i only wish.
st205

you'll need a gt4 rear mount i believe, or there are some guys that custom fabbed their GT mounts, ST needs new mounts all the way around, axles also are different, this is not just drop it and run, there are some changes, ST's will need a bunch of things including different shifter cables.... its really early in the morning and i'm drunk so this might not be 100% right, sounds like a 3rd gen, wonder what year....

Breaking Axles...
you can run the stock 5s tranny and then nothing more is needed, im guessing that its about a 95

this is very true, unless you have an ST

Breaking Axles...
if you have an st there are a bunch of parts you will need ill be honest about that the gt is the easiest way to swap
what year is this? also i have 1-2 harnesses that should fit this engine and ECU, there's a lot of work that needs to be done to them though to get them to work 100% with the GT

Breaking Axles...
when i bought the engine it said 94-99 mr2 3sgte
from what i have been told the mr2 motor requires a lot more work than a 3s from a celi. i'm not exactly sure as to what would need modification but that's what i have been told. do a search and i'm sure you'll come up with the info about it. i'm sure it's been brought up a million times.
do you have any pics of this motor?

Call me a traitor! See if I care. ;)
no not yet its at my parents house and i moved out so i will get some pics asap, ive also heard that its the same just the wir harness isnt long enough but dr. tweak can fix that (phoenixtuning.com)

the motor itself is exactly the same.... the accessories are different but most people use the stuff thats from the 5s anyways so it doesn't make a difference

it will bolt into the engine bay. BUT
your gonna have to source ALOT of parts to get it done.
waternecks, alternator and bracket, ect, all are diffrent on the mr2 motor.

as it looks on my 5s and the 3s all the parts are in the same place and sit at the right height, and i know the only difference that i can notice is that the oil filter is on the bottom of the block instead of just under the exhaust manifold
this engine has roughly 20,000 miles and i want to say its a 95 or 96 but i cant read japanese

Why do you assume it's a 95-96?
